I’m not saying there aren’t people getting rightfully banned man. But there are people who are defending towers, or just playing defense in general in AV getting banned because people who don’t understand how AV works are reporting them. This is the reality of the automated ban feature from mass reporting.
The truth comes out at last. You just absolutely HATE losing AV if low levels bother you this much. To the point where you will be happy that people get 30 day bans during pre-patch of wrath, missing the one time event, missing on leveling their DKs, etc. Man, AV is serious business.
Yup. Not to mention it you see it every game. The guy that screams to report anyone going north. Or report people at this tower. Or report people defending this. Its clearly an auto ban wave.
Same thing happened to me. Leveled a DK to 70 and played activity in BGs all week… Tons of achievements to show for it. Yet I got caught up in this ban wave. This makes no sense. Blizzards system is broken.
Well, I’m not sure if the suspensions were for non-participation or something else. I will say, 30 days for first-time offenders of non-participation does seem a bit harsh.
/shrug people have asked for AV brackets to work the same as other BG’s since basically day one. Cause you know that would actually make sense.
This is the reality of the mass report/automatic ban feature.
If enough people report you, regardless of whether you did anything wrong, you will get banned, and that is BS
This is 100% false. Players do not have GM banning powers with extra steps. Multiboxers do not have GM banning powers by themselves. Players cannot automatically ban other players.
Players constantly claim that a GM could go to popular botting spots and clean up the server single handily. Why has there, in all these years, never been a video of a multiboxer or group of well-meaning players doing this? Why do we not have volunteer communities doing this? Players come here all the time saying they’d spend a few hours a day doing just that if Blizzard game them the power, you’re claiming we already have that power.
Why would an automatic banning system from player reports exist if it doesn’t work on bots and seemingly only functions when players conspire to ban innocent players.
A little critical thinking here goes a long way.
I’ll be waiting
I’m not going to address that because it’s inappropriate. My response to that is that the same as the rest of the stuff though, we are NOT privy to the details of what the situation is, and we should stop pretending that we are.
You can say the meaning was not changed, but it absolutely demonstrated why we shouldn’t trust Blizzard’s word, and you cut that, and responded with “but we should just trust Blizzard.” I get that you don’t WANT to discuss that, but it’s very clear that Blizzard has lied in the past to cover their own tracks, and that’s a fact you can’t ignore when you’re telling people to take their word for it.
“But Nancy Pelosi said so! But Donald Trump said so!” is exactly the same type of ridiculous blind trust of authority that you’re doing in this instance. I don’t think you’d accept either of those statements as sound logic, so why are you doing the same thing with Blizzard? Just because Blizzard says they did something (in a situation where they clearly have some fault, whether intentional or not, because innocent customers of theirs were banned), that statement in no way makes it true whatsoever.
Yes, you’re right, we don’t know. We’re not privy to it. And Blizzard has been proven to have lied to cover their own wrongdoings. Why do you defend them and want to believe what they say, when they have no incentive to tell the truth? If you catch shady texts in your girlfriend’s phone for whatever reason, and she says, “Babe nothing is happening I promise,” what exactly does that promise mean? Are you just going to blindly and naively believe it? Or will you keep it in mind, and wait to see it play out?
We know one thing: Blizzard is falsely banning people for AFKing in Alterac Valley. To claim you have knowledge of Blizzard’s systems and defend them endlessly here because they simply have made a statement on moderation is ridiculous. You should want this fixed, too. You’re relying on “manual moderation” to enact bans which turn up false sometimes, then more “manual moderation” to reverse faulty bans as if it is a failsafe. Do you not see the issue in that?
He absolutely preempted you telling him to simply believe Blizzard because they’re Blizzard–if you’d like to retract that response though, you’re more than welcome to. Rather than just saying “believe Blizzard” like you are, or “don’t believe Blizzard”, he actually pointed to an instance where believing Blizzard was FOOLISH, and is using that as a basis for saying you’re being foolish to simply believe them here because they made an “official statement”. You literally responded with an answer he’d already addressed.
It’s okay Bloomsday, we all make mistakes. Look at my post history, and it’s clear I’m willing to admit when I’ve done something wrong. There’s no purpose in trying to defend your position here–the literal posts above prove a different story than the one you’re telling. You cut out the part about Blizzard lying in court, which was the crux of his entire statement on why Blizzard shouldn’t be trusted. It couldn’t be more clear: intentional or not, you augmented the meaning of his statement.
tldr bro…
ADD RDF
/10charslmfao
I’ve done countless hours in AV and haven’t been banned.
If you were banned you probably deserved it for PVPing. If Blizzzard add RDF this wouldn’t be problem FACT! EVERYONE wants it.
This is my situation as well. Played legit as well as I could, earned my full s4 set and got banned for it. It ain’t right.
If you were banned you probably deserved it for PVPing. If Blizzzard add RDF this wouldn’t be problem FACT! EVERYONE wants it.
What are you talking about?
, but it absolutely demonstrated why we shouldn’t trust Blizzard’s word
No it didn’t, because, as I’ve already stated, we don’t know the details of the case. We have no idea who’s telling the truth there and who isn’t.
Yes, you’re right, we don’t know. We’re not privy to it.
I know I am.
And Blizzard has been proven to have lied to cover their own wrongdoings
Where?
We know one thing: Blizzard is falsely banning people for AFKing in Alterac Valley
We don’t know that. You don’t know if people are are being falsely banned. None of us do.
To claim you have knowledge of Blizzard’s systems and defend them endlessly here because they simply have made a statement on moderation is ridiculous.
You’re conflating two different issues here. I’m saying that Blizzard’s report system is NOT automated. Blizzard has said so, the proof says so, and critical thinking says so. That’s what I’m defending via statements on moderation… On the topic of the banwave, which is a separate topic entirely, I have already admitted, several times now, that I don’t know if they are justified or not. Probability wise, they probably are.
You cut out the part about Blizzard lying in court
Again, we, have NO idea, if Blizzard lied or not. Unless you are somehow privy to that knowledge, which I doubt.
Same situation here. There has to be some mistake made. We will see. Please post here with results of your appeal!
even if a real person reviewed each 1 in a meaningful way, being afk and defending are almost indiscernible in AV.
Guarding the mid towers to prevent backcaps is the most important thing you can do, yet it’s rare for people to attack them. Most of the time, you do literally nothing. You likely won’t even make it to drek/vann before the game ends.
Add in the fact that you are low lvl in greens, maybe without epic riding, and that’s the only role you can do.
Legit the reason we were banned is because someone at Blizzard doesn’t know how AV works.
even if a real person reviewed each 1 in a meaningful way, being afk and defending are almost indiscernible in AV.
They really aren’t, if you go through entire AV matches regularly and manage to somehow do nothing meaningful that’s on you.
