BG Ban wave. Blizzard needs to address this

I never received an email saying I was banned either, just got banned. Then was unbanned later in the night with no correspondence. Ticket still open and untouched.

Regardless, if they do identify some factor that all the accounts that are “innocent” have in common, they can scan for that and reverse those. I can only talk about what has been made public over the years and they have talked about before. In the past they have posted statements about false positives and batch un-banning folks.

I’m guessing something like this happened if your appeal is still open. For those that haven’t been unbanned yet, they will likely have to go through the appeal system, or, as Orylia puts it,

I did have a brief look at this, I am not the decision maker, but I wouldn’t hold out a great deal of hope this one is going to be overturned.

It seems that not everyone caught in the banwave is completely innocent.
