I will admit my initial post definitely didn’t come out right. I totally over-exaggerated. What I meant is that, while their is positive feedback on here, the trolling/negativity completely overwhelms the good. @Lagspike said "BFA has some grave flaws that make it very unenjoyable for me, but apparently a lot of people really like it. They just don’t visit the forums to talk about the things they like. Then, @Amine said “It doesn’t show anything.” What I initially meant was that people love to complain on the forums, regardless of how good of a spot the game is in. The praise and normal discussion that is said gets lost in the rage and noise of said complaints. The heavy like-dislike ratio shows just how firey a crowd can get. Hate becomes a bandwagon at that point, as while it is deserved (like Diablo Immortal), it doesn’t deserve to constantly spread and infest every corner of the internet. Basically, there are plenty of people who are enjoying themselves, but not voicing it. People so easily result to the wow-is-dead mentality and begin to think the game is doomed. Yes, it’s in a bad spot right now, and I agree that changes have to be made, but that doesn’t mean the servers are just gonna shut down (Not directed at @Hateaddict, @Felisferalis, etc, just talking at large here).
TL;DR : There are plenty of people enjoying B.F.A at the moment, they just aren’t as loud if they do voice it (when compared to everything else on the forums). People on the internet generally love to hate things and will join in the hate bandwagon, even if whatever it is is only in a mediocre state.
It just proves that even the video game award shows have rng. I guess if Trump can become president Activision can win an award for the best mmo. I wonder if russian hackers were involved in this win? Better call Mueller.
Did they think they were voting for legion by mistake ? If that’s the case heck yeh I agree … BFA … meh… not a lot of competition though ESO ( content drought at moment ) SWTOR ( awesome for a single player experience not so much mmo side ) FF14 … awesome tradeskills and many mechanics are truly awesome … but the whole Asian flair to the game in graphics and such sucks to much to enjoy it visually for me at least …
WoW is fun … enough … if you get into fantasy side for the moment … content is a little meh at moment … will prolly get better as expansion goes on … legion just left huge shoes to fill … hard to top the climax of a world GoD stabbing your planet with a big giant sword then going back to fighting each other lol … underwhelming a bit
But yes compared to other popular MMO’s … WoW is good … but not great … there are no great MMO’s to play at the moment imho … THE only thing upcoming that peaks my interest some is pantheon just becuase it will be hardcore and brings back support and control classes … ( can you say enchanter heck yes ) and very based on EQ ideals … but I’m not sure they even have enough money to make it great … plus it’s prolly 3 years away minimum unless they release early and screw the pooch by doing so …
Blizzard seems to be on a path of taking the RPG out of mmoRPG … and I don’t like that …PARTICULARLY with this sports crap fest … I know I know some of you live for that and god love you for it … not my thing … I have 7 accounts on 3 battlenets and been playing since 2004 - only 2 active at moment but I swear I think I’ll vomit in mouth if I do one more mythic + but my old marine Corps buddy likes them so Semper Fi for him and I do them … it just gets old trying to beat a time … like where in the hell is any RPG in that and how did that even become a thing in a RPG … that should be left to MOBAs etc … although I concede many like it …
Anywoo yeah I’m still subbed x 2 … lol … good job blizzard on winning I guess … but sucks if devs thinks it means many are extremely satisfied with current WoW and continue this direction away from RPG BASIS and into timed snore fest with no flavor or time to even see the flavor or really even RPG the open world since we are basically God level tier in all open world content … not super fun …
But pet battles… still digging these and raiding still fun and dungeons decent not as good as legion yet … but dungeons way more fun when you ignore timer and role play a bit and speak into Discord saying hold up guys … I need a beer and a pee break lol …
TLDR: still having enough fun to keep paying subs … although a lot of it is me makeing up my own fun stuff and goals to do … just wish they would put more RPG back into the game particularly open world … and throttle down on the epeen esport stuff ( I mean the pvp event had literally unkillabl3 players becuase of a trinket ) MMO should not be esport stuff particularly pvp … there are way better designed games for pvp in an esport setting like overwatch league of legends etc. … BLIZZARD art department still rocks as always … a shame we are gods in the open world with no threat of danger though … hope award like this doesn’t make dev team thinks they are really on right track though
Yeah, the biggest MMO on the market with open voting and even multi-voting won. Surprise!! /sarcasm
And the award for most periods in a forum post goes to…
I think I counted 148 but I’m not 100% sure on that #
Doesn’t that just kind of mean the 3.1 was most likely not a valid score especially considering the nature of the more negative reviews? Such as the zero scores that talk about all the things they like about BfA, but still give it a zero?
Learn what those are when three dots are in a row lol not periods
Glad to see read post … which you didn’t
Btw it’s an Ellipsis not periods … it indicates I had much more to say but the thought stands on its own without adding the rest
So now … take your pseudo-intellectual booty on down the road /wave
1) Fans could vote each hour. thats why WoW won.
If you think fans of every game didnt vote for their favorite as much
as possible. Think again.
2) Activision bought the reward.
Would you be saying Square-Enix bought it if FFXlV had won?
If that had happened. Then it would have been a legit win.
3) Its a popularity contest.
Yes, fans are voting on their favorite. The same as any other awards
where fans vote.
Different audiences have different points of view.
And the only opinion that really matters is your own.
Don’t worry too much about it. Just have fun. If you’re not having fun, find something that’s fun.
Honestly, the way I view things, the audience for WoW is one of the biggest out there. So it kind of has a leg up.
Only said it because you didn’t need to do all of those series. Just write it normally. And I did read it. Never had an issue with them anyway, I just thought it was funny.
Nice edit. And I know what it was, but you can just write it out normally, typing isn’t hard. Also, it was a joke, learn to take one. I just thought it was funny.
They are not called series they are called Ellipsis … and I use them to indicate that there was much more to say in between but the thoughts stand on their own without stating the rest … which is the proper use of them when conveying a shorthand message
But why not commit on the actual post instead of grammar police BS lol
I know what it was. And I’m not being a grammar police. I just thought it was funny. Why’d you even edit your post anyway? Seems a little suspicious. Finally, I did comment on the actual post- scroll up!
I did think was funny thus the heart I gave you … I just like to be over the top with bland sarcasm and give it back
But you gave the heart just now and you weren’t being sarcastic at all. You were clearly trying to fight back, not be funny.
Actually I wasn’t becuase I don’t care … lol … was just messing with you … I’m dry … but without facial expressions, tone, inflection, and body language … the internet is hard
I just think it’s funny how there are people in here trying to discredit the award only because WoW won, but many of them were the same ones who accepted the award’s legitimacy by voting against WoW to show Blizzard how dissatisfied the “player base” is with BfA. I can guarantee you if WoW actually lost, we would be hearing a different story from those same naysayers.
FFXIV is pretty good, but it is gated pretty hard and has a pretty abysmal leveling experience. It might of done better if it released it’s next expansion already, as the current one is kind of on the stale side of repetitive grinds of being fed little bits and pieces every few months.
WoW just has… Well, more busywork to do and a more accessible entry point. So in a popularity contest, the one with more players will likely be the winner handily.
So you edit a post to give you higher ground, then give me a heart and pretend you were being sarcastic by saying you got the joke, and then, when you read that I realized all of that, you say “you don’t care”. Touché…
