Absolutely untrue.
The forums are where people go when they like to discuss things with random strangers on the internet. People who donât like forums never visit them.
On any site where forums are a part but not the entire focus, only a tiny percentage of members ever visit the forums.
There is no reason to believe that the opinions of regular forum posters (minus obvious trolls of all ilks) do not represent the opinions of the playerbase at large.

Thatâs awesome. Even though it may be in decline itâs still the best MMo out there with the biggest player base.
Itâs true, even Blizz has said they agree that the game is not in a good spot and things need to change.
The award was for most popular. It should not be a surprise that BfA won.
BfA certainly has itâs problems and I have pointed some of them out.
The other poster said it well, if the award were for the least popular or most disliked, BfA would have probably won that award as well.
I did not see a big marketing campaign by Blizzard for these awards - a simple forum post that was mostly trolled and perhaps a tweet.
Its more that the Negative Nancyâs form a lynch mob whenever anyone says anything positive about WoW.

But itâs the same for people that try to raise valid concerns about the game. They get met with hostility and âhow dare you insult my favorite gameâ mentality too.
I wish people were more receptive of feedback in general but I can understand getting frustrated when someone post something you disagree with, but⌠some people are real jerks about it either way.

It doesnât matter if they got this award rigged or not, all that matters is that the game is losing players because itâs terrible and devs ignore player feedback, every class in the game is horrible except Rogue.

WoW is the biggest MMO still breathing out there, winning this doesnât change the fact that itâs terrible compared to previous versions of itself and has way too much to fix to even begin improving.
