BfA won Gamers` Choice Awards 🏆

I mean, I don’t really know what some of you expected. Subs could be down to 1.7 million, as some suggest, and that would still make WoW: BFA that most popular MMO. They could be down to 800k and the same would apply.

Reviews, awards don’t really mean/reflect much to me so it’s w/e. I still won’t suggest BFA to friends/family in its current form.

Im just here to taste the tears of all those that keep saying the game is a trainwreck.

Keep them coming!

Pretty much this, the most dedicated core audience is enough to keep it in the number one spot.

With all you guys and your negative comments about wow
Why stay? Just go away and don’t come back if it’s sooooo bad.

Makes me wonder why if you are a intelligent human being you would play something you claim you hate.

I believe most people come from a place of, they love WoW and want it to be the best game it can be. Sometimes they don’t express themselves so well. Most of us love WoW!

Blizz must of hired a russian troll farm to spam vote for them.

My kid voted on the hour every hour ever since it started. He stayed up three days straight voting for WOW, tired as all heck. I finally made him go to bed, or I would turn the internet off. Myself I voted for FF14 one time. I moved from WOW to FF14 I like the crafting system much better then the watered down version WOW has become. Love playing a trader.

LOL you do realize you can still post after leaving.

I wonder if this will help with the loss of subscriptions?

I’m glad BFA won awards. /clap BFA is still a masterpiece. But the major pillars of this particular expansion (Azerite, Warfronts, Island Expeditions) are fairly weak, not engaging, and contain vast potential that hasn’t been tapped into yet.

Seeing as WOW has been the most dominating MMORPG in the genre, it’s no surprise to me that even in it’s weakest state it can reel in awards. It’s THAT good. Even when players savage on the game play and the content, WOW is still miles ahead of any competition.

Blizzard deserves thanks and has definitely earned the awards. “Rigged” and “the game is dying” are statements used by the people who cannot be grateful for what’s in front of them. People should get over themselves and finally wish well upon others even if they themselves are failures. It’s okay if there’s success happening to people other than me. I wish Blizzard well and the employees deserve way more credit than they’re given. And I’m sure people will quickly label me as a shill for not necessarily taking their side but just speaking well of Blizzard.

But for goodness sake, Blizzard
reconnect with the community and make meaningful change to BFA. And do it fast please, us devoted players are waiting patiently. /moo

and that’s why it won favorite MMOrpg because its SOOO bad
or is it because it’s not as bad as a small percentage of angry people constantly scream it is and the rest of us are having a good time still?

Oh it definitely is legit, and yes the genre is not in a great spot. How you could possibly think otherwise is a mystery. None of the other MMO’s are in good condition at all, one of the nominees didn’t even have any real content in two years

BFA despite it’s issues atm, is still FAR more popular than any of the other options there. It is also still in a far better state than any of them except for FF14, which I and many others just don’t enjoy at all despite it actually being a decent game.

How can you vote multiple times?

Blizzard can make 100k dislikes vanish on their Youtube videos. Rigging this contest would be a considerably easier feat.

Just saying - it’s worth mentioning since they’ve already been caught redhanded tampering with something that boiled down to popular vote in the past.

ya looks like they can’t find a better job i guess

I thought you needed a active sub to post.

Honestly I have my reservations over this “win”

First off according to -

World of Warcraft was the only MMORPG in the Multiplayer game catergory. The other nominees it went up against were -

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
Overwatch
A Way Out
PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds
Destiny 2: Forsaken
Monster Hunter: World

Not all of which could be considered MMORPG in the sense that World of Warcraft is. So did they create a new category for World of Warcraft to win at ?

Secondly we don’t know what the vote outlay was for the MMORPG World of Warcaft was in. What other MMORPGs were voted for (if any) ? How many positive votes did Wow Get ? How many negative ones ? We know how many people voted total but out of those how many casted a vote for World of Warcraft ?

Honestly without knowing what other MMORPGs Wow was up against and the exact voter breakdown for the wow votes this feels like a gold star award. “Congratulations you took part!” [gold star]

I don’t even do Mythic+ in BFA your assumeing here lol!

None of the devs of the other games asked people to vote for them. I do not think BFA was the best game on there either.

Didnt PubG win game of the year, when it was still in beta? HA!

I don’t think that’s accurate? When I looked at the site I saw:

Fan Favorite MMORPG
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth
The Elder Scrolls Online
Maple Story 2
Lineage II: Revolution
Black Desert Online
EVE Online
Final Fantasy XIV
