You’re right and that’s why WoD was bad. But BfA is worse IMO because even with all the content to do outside of raids/PVP, none of it is worth doing because the classes are awful and unfun to play. What little content WoD had outside of PVP/raiding was at least fun to do because your class actually felt fun and worthwhile to play.
I didn’t play much of WoD because there was nothing to do. But I played even less of BfA because none of it felt fun/entertaining or worth doing.
I’ve got a soft spot for Cata but that’s because that’s the expansion I started playing in with old friends. Since I didn’t experience anything prior while it was current, I don’t really have any gripes with the expansion but I know a lot of people do lol.
I don’t think many people say WoD was good, but are using it as a reference for how much they dislike BfA.
I said during WoD that I actually enjoyed the leveling, as one bright spot. It’s one of my favorite leveling expacs still. And once I discovered the Ashran premades, I had an absolute blast the rest of the expac.
But everyone has their own perspective. Each person likes different aspects of the game, has their own pet peeves, and things that will either capture them or drive them away.
I think that overall it’s a close run between the two, but I’d say I preferred WoD due to the fact it did have at least one thing I enjoyed long term. Plus it released my favorite title in the game with Predator.
Again, this just highlights WoD biggest problem. It was a raid/PvP or die xpac. That “great class design” came in handy when I ran circles in my garrison.
We just came from an xpac that gave the solo player (like me):
Yeah same here, I raided in Cata and WoD so I know I likely have a bias since I likely wasn’t experiencing what people complained about (nothing to do outside of PVP/raids). But I’m not raiding in BfA and it’s supposed to be the expansion with tons to do outside of PVP/raids in comparison, and I find myself feeling like it’s not fun, not worth it, and playing even less than when I played in WoD or Cata.
If BfA was supposed to be the expansion to keep people playing who didn’t raid or PVP with more content outside of that, I don’t think it accomplished that at all.
Yeah I actually really enjoyed leveling through WoD. WoD and Cata zones are still my favorites as far as leveling. Ashran is actually what got me to try PvP. Healing in it was so much fun to me lol.
Actually BFA is tad better than WoD. At lease you had something to do in BFA while WoD you had little content and majority of your time is afking in the Garrison.
Well, there was Ashran, there was raids, there was PVP (Including Rated), there was leveling new toons…
Like I said, I am not saying WoD is the best or a good expansion. To me, WoD was one of the worse expansions. But with how bad BfA has really been, I much rather relive WoD over BfA.
Content in Bfa is not bad, let’s not be unfair. Bfa’s downfall are the dumb malfunctioning systems/butchered classes and neglect to important aspects of the game.
