BFA was better than Shadowlands

I have an alt I plan to keep sub 50 here for a while. Wod has mogs and such I can hunt that get difficult on 50 ding.

That horde alt does leatherworking. Works the garrison setup for that. Trapping goes to crap at 50. Even naked you can one shot stuff so no traps for leather for you.

Even this I find better than anima hunts…for recolors. Then iron scrap farming. Some new stuff (for me) there I saw recently. Mogs that aren’t recolors…yes please. I have to wreck an alliance chars garrison soon to farm alliance side for that. I am fine with that.

Likewise. I’ve been doing plenty of Garrison stuff for mounts, achievments, transmogs, etc. & farming old raids. I would rather do that than a tedious Anima grind.

Legendaries can work if they are supported. With patch 9.1 they are making it hard to support legendary system due to domination.

:surfing_woman: :surfing_man:

Both are equal loads of crap one is cow the other is chicken in the end it is still sht.

I wish they’d go back to doing gear how they did it in Warlords. We just had to collect gear and didn’t have to grind AP/Azerite/Anima.

BfA and shadowlands are just the natural progression of legion and EVERYONE loved legion right?

let’s give everyone ashbringer and launch with a bug that doubles your chances of getting a legendary if you already have one. Also let’s rework shadow priest and then redo it again next patch… also if you get this legendary belt you can have several charges of instant cast mind blast but actually even though your specs main ability causes you to DIE at the end of your STM phase we decided to give you prydaz with your worst secondary stats. Here have a versatility trinket from a world quest.

WoD had fun PvP but the last palatable expansion was MoP IMHO

Hated Nazjatar. Glad it only got one patch.

Preferred BFA’s story pre-Nazjatar.

I got more enjoyment out of BFA, and found it more memorable with its areas and story than SL. I found many of BFA’s mechanics horrific in what it did to loot and loot progression. I absolutely lothed anything related to gearing up with BFA, i didnt have that with SL.

However when i play SL i feel so…managed…like micromanaged like a boss telling me where to play and how and for how long. I hated the feeling. I kept running out of things i was allowed to collect or do and had to log into classic so i can farm.

With SL i just dont feel they know why people use to love wow so im probably done with expansions in retail, though im sure ill be levelling characters and playing classic.

While the content of SL wasnt bad, it was too restrictive, and too light in general with content, and nothing i wanted to chase. i didnt enjoy torhgast and hated it was mandatory. I didnt enjoy the maw at all and hated it was mandatory. And with my realization that i just hate dealing with over the top endgame mechanics and low socialization raids and dungeon content…im taking retail as a single player thing and the historic game servers for a real social mmorpg experience. Im not sure that will ever be back in retail.

But yeah i got more fun out of BFA than SL. Granted theres still lots of time for that to turn around. Thus far i have no interest and little time invested in SL.

Nearly infinite anima grind.

Renown catch-up grind if you switch covenants or start a new toon.

Great Vault grind (doing content repeatedly simply to increase weekly options rather than for rewards from the content itself).

Soul ash grind.

Stygia grind.

Honor grind (both to upgrade Honor gear to max rank and also to upgrade Conquest gear).

Conquest grind.

Valor grind.

Grateful offerings grind.

Avowed rep grind.

Ve’nari rep grind.

Covenant specific grinds such as:
Medallion grind
Ruby grind
Ember Court rep and perks (multiple grinds)
Mushroom rep grind
Court of Night rep grind
Abomination parts grind
Anima-touched weapon fragments grind

Grinds resulting from rewards tied behind extremely low RNG, such as Venthyr mirrors grind, Unity World Quest grind, etc.

Gold grind or mat grind for legendaries.

Souls grind for covenant building upgrades.

Dungeon grind for legendary recipes.

They both suck horribly.

Warlords is better than BfA and SL it’s also better than Cataclysm.

Almost nothing you mentioned is a grind… it’s gated weekly so you literally can’t grind it…

As for anima and the like it’s totally optional content therefore if you don’t like the “grind” don’t do it and you’ll still be able to 10/10 mythic with no issue

Grind? In MY MMO? It’s more likely than you think!

I only liked Azerite because it came from everything I did, so it accumulated naturally. I always felt like I was getting somewhere, but it stunk because that somewhere was endless.

I loved when it had a cap around 8.2 or whatever, that was really good! I also liked the Artifact weapon more for the same reason. It maxed out, until it didn’t, then it stunk.

The analogue to AP this expac is Soul Ash. I don’t like Soul Ash as much because it only comes from Torghast, and it is the only reward from that one thing. At least Island Expeditions had a crap ton of collectibles and you could not do them and make steady progression.

I do like the Legendaries more than the Neck, azerite gear, and the essences, but they feel more like artifacts than legendaries. And with their existence, it’s unlikely we’ll get a proper-feeling legendary progression system like the WoD ring or the MoP cloaks. :frowning:

Maybe 10 yrs, they might level squish us down to level 30 in 10.0, cuz 60 is a big scary number that scares new players away.

There were also patches …

That’s a hard no. Shadowlands 9.0 is far from perfect but Shadowlands 9.0 > BFA 8.0 anytime. The Azarite grind and Azarite armor RNG rolls were just unpleasant in general.

Mop cloaks really felt legendary!

the systems were less grindy? Azerite was “literally” an endless grind.

Anima has no real purpose.
