So, why isn’t this game named Conan the Barbarian and why don’t the designers have the same issue as the original author that developed him? After all, if you are going to lose all grip on reality and say that armor is unnecessary, then why not let all those who choose to run around naked suffer the consequences of their poor armor planning by reducing their hit points, parry and other self-defense stats that armor gives?

I wonder if anyone knows that Conan the Barbarian’s original author committed suicide at 30 because he was so wrapped up in his fantasy writing that he couldn’t keep up with or cope with the real world. I thought that was an interesting insight into the creator of the sword and sorcery father of fantasy. Are we, his audience and emulators any better at heeding those boundaries?
