Depending on who you ask, they sort of tried to do it in Legion. But….it was an extremely weak attempt if you ask me.
With BfA, they moved even further from it.

I enjoy SV. I’m bad at it, get rolled by DKs, rogues, and WW in BGs, but I enjoy it all the same lol.

No, not “honestly”.
The issues with melee Survival didn’t suddenly go away because it has an approachable gameplay loop now. Gameplay fluidity is not dependent on the spec being melee.
Wait, what? Lol you can’t tell someone they can’t change their opinion after trying something, even if that something never changed. Tastes change, its subjectivity.
