Well it does seem that wpvp is frowned upon in BFA
A raid group raiding a city all got ported out of the city because they caused instability and were told if they did it again then actions would be taken against them.
So it seems that “warmode” is more for 1 on 1 engagement rather than wpvp.
What’s worse is the entire expansion was predicated on this Horde vs. Alliance endeavour, and the built War Mode as a capstone to champion that cause.
Now you’ve got PvP happening and not only do they not support it, they ban someone for utilizing it. I was annoyed there was no PK/player-killing option in D3, but it just gets worse and worse.
Group reporting against a targeted player is 100% something that happens. If you don’t PvP a lot you probably wouldn’t be aware of it. But believe me, it happens. I roll with a group regularly for un-rated battlegrounds and we steamroll all our games and often end up farming the enemy GY. All you have to do is anger enough people and the group reporting comes flooding in.
It’s not at all an unrealistic situation.
Also, drama queen? Really? Pot calling the kettle black, don’t you think?
Blizz is going to have a tough time with classic. Wpvp was endgame and what many kept an active sub to do. The 120 player alliance raid going to raid the horde troll city and them being ported out by blizz. The mass reporting when people are farming hks in the world and surrounding quest hubs.
I really question how blizz will handle all this with classic and players are having to run the extra 5 miles from the limited gy locations.
I still have a strange speculation that there is more to this story than what is being told.
From what I read player had that new 5 person fast mount and they were flying around and landing and killing. Players were probably surprised to see 5 hop off a mount and kill them. And if it was 5 vs 1 you know there were cries of “not fair” in zone chat.
That’s simple… They will ignore it the way they did in Vanilla or this will not be the Vanilla Experience and they will lose players in droves (again).
The only question is whether or not Blizzard realizes that.
The automated ban system and Classic will not be compatible. Not with the honor system in. It will become a weapon people use against each other just like it is on retail and turn Classic into a joke.
Yeah it definitely has. I had mortal enemies from the other faction that I never hesitated to mercilessly hound and kill endlessly in Vanilla. The most that happened was that they either spirit rezzed and disappeared, or sometimes they would hop on an alt to tell me off. Or they’d retaliate enmasse with a group. All of this built strong faction ties and communal growth, and gave the game an onion layer of dread. It legitimately made my heart beat a bit quicker knowing they had reinforcements coming, and it was about to get spicy. It was enthralling and fun. Win some, lose some, live to fight another day.
You realize trying to force groups into random pvp bg’s is no intended? I mean it’s fun and my guild did it for awhile and steam rolling pugs is fun but guess what it’s not fun for the pugs.
And if you’re getting reported for it good for the reporting system.
Then you won’t be playing on a pvp server will you ?
Why “rejoice” over something that will never affect you ?
But pvp servers have their place for people that want that added risk.
I could see a bunch of people raging and reporting someone that is ganking players, and shouting in zone for others to do it. If the player receives so many reports, auto ban.
This is absolutely ridiculous that it can happen from wpvp, but the automated system doesn’t know that. Terrible system, that means any ganker can be reported and banned (not that I condone ganking, but it is pvp).
What is hilarious is that the players didn’t take it into their own hands and hunt him down and keep the ganker dead. Probably because warmode is not the same as a pvp server. People are just doing it for the exp bonus.
