My favorite thing was that during WoD, everything was labeled “savage” so that the world could actually feel more savage.
– but when it comes down to actual game savagery, the people have spoken. They want their boring slot machine. This is the playerbase that Blizzard decided to keep. Never forget. WotLK intro event was canceled because of people who couldn’t tolerate not being able to use their favorite AH for five minutes.
For standing in his garrison ? hey…I don’t follow the guy at all but he proved a point that the automated right click reporting can be abused quite easily.
And this is against what rule exactly? Mass reporting shouldn’t auto ban anyone, it should just escalate the situation where a GM can review it, and then ban them accordingly.
Which it 100% can be and it needs to be removed. I don’t think there is an issue with right click reporting tbh. The issue is the instant, automated banning that needs to be removed.
I remember in WoD there was this multiboxing dude who would just camp in Trashran and if there was ever a group of people who would kill him (one time a single mage killed all 30+ of his characters). He would make a ticket on every single account and they would be instantly banned.
You have your head so far up your rear end my dude. The point was that he was showing it was a flawed system. And if they enforced every false report 40% of WoW would be banned. They only do this for extreme cases like multiboxers mass reporting.
People do world pvp and ganking all of the time in BFA without getting banned. What is more likely… that Blizz is randomly banning him and only him for this, or that he is leaving something out of his story?
Do we know this was an auto ban though? Isn’t that one of the questions regarding this?
If it was an auto ban, then that’s one thing. But if it was a manual ban then I think that changes the situation.
The real problem is, as he noted in the reddit thread, the lack of communication from Blizzard on this which leaves us in the dark. In my case, they were able to jog my memory, but apparently not in his.
I guess it depends on the situation. What if he was ganking a raid group of pve players with warmode turned on ? Then they don’t like getting killed so they tell the raid group to report him…BAM…40 one click reports for player harassment.
Don’t forget we have posters here who think other players are “obstacles” to their questing enjoyment. Imagine if these same players were getting killed ?
There was also an incident where RBG teams were right-click reporting a member of opposing RBG teams to force an immediate disconnect and suspension to play 14v15. I believe this was shown on Quin’s stream.
Personally, I’m optimistic and excited to play classic. But if I get banned for 1-shotting Hordies via Reckbomb that fly into Light’s Hope Chapel, well, I guess there’s always Crogge and Shenna or Whitekidney.
I do understand. It’s the classic case of “can do no wrong” vs “I didn’t do nuffin”
Blizzard sits in the no win position. Any proof they provide will cause more harm than good. Abstaining from showing proof cause just as much harm.
What should be the topic is the label “ganking”. War mode removes all possibilities of ganking. At best, it can be labeled “caught with your pants down”.
If kickin butt is harrassment. War mode is an absolute failure.
