BFA N'zoth Cinematic now Unlisted

The thing is, no one even knows what they’re mad about anymore. They are just addicted to being mad. There is a cottage industry of content creators that Youtube’s algorithm throws in their face 3 times a day reinforcing their new drug, which is hating everything. Every game, every movie, EVERYTHING.

I am in the minority that didn’t hate WOD. I wasn’t even a raider, but I thought the questing and story were fine (until the ending). I didnt care about the garrisons… I spent the majority of my time killing alliance in Ashran and running with my guild doing WPVP. It at least had PvP vendors and PvP gear that scaled up to match high end PvE gear so PvErs couldnt one shot you in the world. The toys made things unbearable in some situations though…

That being said, BFA has dropped too many balls to be considered “better” than WOD. Too many convoluted “Systems” for no reason. Too many over hyped, half done features like War-mode (SOOO MUCH MISSED POTENTIAL!!!). Too much RNG on top of RNG… And no PvP Vendors…

This might be unpopular to say but he doesn’t. Ion should not get fired, despite as much as I hate what he and his Diablo 3 crowd have done to pvp.

He just should remain as head of the raid dev team, they’re probably the best the industry has to offer in this regard. We just need someone who can actually lead development for the game as a whole, not just raid guy multitasking, it doesn’t seem to be working.

The more I think about, all of 8.3 is just…weird. It’s a weird kind of filler. Really, the final Saurfang cinematic was the last cinematic of this expansion and was the first tie into Shadowlands. Kind of like how Ulduar was a mid-expansion raid before fighting the Lich King, I almost feel like the epilogue of 8.2 should’ve been how the expansion ended while we dealt with N’Zoth somewhere in the middle. The twist at the end should’ve been finding out Sylvanas was working with Azshara, but that ended up peaking in the middle and now we’ve passed the climax.

BfA isn’t terrible, it’s just so incredibly disjointed and doesn’t know what it really wants to be.

+1

N’zoth was never the major bad in this expansion, they literally tell you who the main villain is

I wonder if we ended with Azshara’s defeat in 8.2, beat N’Zoth in 8.3, and 8.3.5 lead up to final battle at Org with the Saurfang cinematic, would we have this kind of backlash? Literally the same story content, just in a different order with possibly a little bit more about the final battle between Saurfang and Sylvanas. Would people have praised the ending cinematic then if it wasn’t given to us in the middle?

Since those cinematics take so long to develop, and they all revolve around Saurfang, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was intended to be the final piece. Yet, we somehow got it in the middle :man_shrugging:

he isnt the head of the raid team anymore.

Not white knighting but I did not mind the cinematic. Out of all the boss defeats cinematic scenes KJ is still my favorite. That was an awesome one. This is on the level with Argus, well maybe a little worse. But that is the only way I could see and Old God being destroyed by puny mortals like us. It was way better than Deathwing wither way, and Garrosh, and Gul’dan being tossed by Archimonde.

Think he’s both?

That is what is scaring me. If they are phoning it in…and at blizzcon they had almost nothing to show for it…and shadowlands is this year…I feel like we are being set up with something that could be a massive let down.

I agree that the whole Azshara and N’zoth patches felt like they have been filler.

Ironically they are the ones I was most interested in this expansion. Not everyone will feel the same way. That’s just me. Why is this?

It’s something different.

It’s not depressed orcs, where they keep getting the same reoccurring story over and over. Trust me I love orcs, but this has got to stop. Maybe do something fun with them instead.

It’s not the Warchief being the main villian. Which has been way overdone as well. So everything to do with Sylvanas.

This is why Azshara and N’zoth were fillers because it barely served their main character they have been pushing for a long while now. Which is Sylvanas. I understand her arc will need some type of closure and I am hoping she gets in Shadowlands. I have no idea what they plan to do with her and frankly I never cared.

The good news out of all of this is I heard the Horde have a council now. So hopefully the Warchief going crazy can be put to rest.

I was very happy with the little bit of Azshara content I got to play and I can agree that what they did with N’zoth was lackluster. Some people seem to be more upset. (I was more offended by the amount of bugs this patch) Personally I thought to myself right away… maybe due to the books he might not be completely dead as my understanding Old Gods just can’t die. Y’Shaarj is the prime example of this, being ripped out of Azeroth by a titan and still having influence everywhere. They very well could’ve retconned this tho.

You are very much correct tho. That the last Saurfang cinematic ties into Sylvanas and Shadowlands.

The only thing I want to mention is I never understood why they bailed ship on the war campaign so fast. Oh well what can we go for now… well let’s do Azshara and N’zoth.

Wars are interesting. Some people might beg to differ, but you can definitely have a compelling war story. I’m not sure what happened there.

They probably just decided to take it down before it got a claim on it from Warner Brothers due to all the LotR imagery and some music notes.

I honestly feel that if they ended the war campaign in 8.3.5 and finished with the Saurfang cinematic, this conversation would not be happening to this degree. Although N’Zoth would still technically be the last boss of the expansion, I think people would’ve been satisfied with the war campaign closing out BfA.

I guess that’s why I’m not quite as upset as everyone else because, as a whole, it seemingly works out. The whole tie together of Sylvanas working with the Jailer behind the scenes was the big twist that should have brought us to the next expansion. The end of 8.2, where Jaina and Lor’themar talk about dealing with Sylvanas, should have happened after we beat N’Zoth, not Azshara.

But what do I know. I don’t get paid to write stories

Here’s my reaction to the cinematic

Northrend was originally established as snow and ice but there was an entire expansion centered around that.

This is what you call Blizzard taking their customers for granted. Embarrassing that this was even thought for a second it was going to be okay. Just plain Lazy!

But…it is bad.

Well the top youtube comments on the video are:

“That’s right Blizzard, hide your shame.”

and

“Blizzard : ‘this is what happens when you idiots don’t buy enough $10 mounts’”

Since blizz can’t get forum whiteknights to tote water over on youtube, it looks like red pills are being dropped left and right.

I remember watching the “you are not prepared” video a hundred times…this cinematic was just sad…

The thing that erks me the most is all the spoilers.

Why release an ending Cinematic that is part of completing the raid?
There are many people who are yet to see this and how do you know that the reason for hiding the Cinematic was not for the removing of spoilers on the first week of the raid release?

I thank you Blizzard for not spoling this for me as I have your YouTube channel Subcribed and I get to see the little blue markers on the channels that have new content to watch. I am pleased that I will watch it after I have a better understanding of the story, like just the other day I had watched Thrall in his homeland and Saurfang came to visit after tracking some Undead Rogues.

Looking forward in watching.

Super big yikes. This is what got me. There is no bridging whatsoever, as well as no 8.3.5
