BfA Legacy Raids overtuned?

he doesnt want us easily killing stuff his hard work until we buy the expansion lol and have time played metrics leveling up to 80 to get our powerr back

Still doesn’t track. All of Legion (except Eonar) was laughably soloable at the end of Shadowlands even before the DF pre-patch.

Conspiracy-level stuff here.

Lol stop being so over dramatic. You aren’t going anywhere and everyone knows it.

sometimes…it feels as if they actually resent
us just having FUN with legacy content.
they want us to use it…they just don’t want us
to enjoy using it…lol.

i did bfa on beta with 625 elite gladiator gear and the bosses were nearly melting but not quite

It is definitely a head scratcher. Honestly can’t think of one cogent reason they thought it was a good idea to waste dev time to go back to legacy content and buff it. SMH. :man_facepalming:

I used to be able to solo raids that I was one level higher than. All I can tell you is that that has not been the case in at least the past decade, and they’ve only made it worse.

and this being just amonth after nerfing them

If you want to ‘once upon a time’ me, I’ll do the same. Once upon a time, there weren’t any boosts at all in legacy content. I was killing Attumen back in Wrath at level 80 with no boosts being applied whatsoever. These things were only implemented as Blizzard started squishing stuff down. For whatever reason, they didn’t adjust mobs in the legacy instances of the time and just gave players the so-called ‘legacy buff’ instead.

Fast-forward to today, where the ‘legacy buff’ is no longer a factor in scaling/tuning for legacy content, because it’s all more or less worked into the process. Blizz still hasn’t gotten it right and things get weird again every time they mess with numbers, but even that opinion has to be measured against a lot of different expectations when it comes to legacy content.

I don’t remember speaking to you at all. Do you usually insert yourself into other conversations in this way?

No. No it is absolutely not “fine”.

it will be fine. and then they squish us and stuff will be unsoloable again. even legion

LOL

Did you already forget that you replied to my post? That’s why I replied to you, y’know.

There was no buff before squishes. If there was, you’d see it on cata classic. Blizzard relied on exponential scaling to make things soloable.

mostly buy tokens with it, and stuff.

Why? Why would they ever even bother wasting time to do that?

Would be nice to get an official response if this was intended, or a bug

Intentional as it is tied to moving the 60-70 leveling experience into Chromie Time in preparation for TWW becoming the new stand-alone leveling experience.

When they merged 1-60 and 60-70, they smoothed out gear progression from 1-70 to remove the gaps between previous expansions.

Characters now receive much higher ilevel gear when leveling - a level 56 gets ilevel 301, which is just slightly lower than the maximum end-game gear at 60 during SL. Previously a level 56 would be getting gear around ilevel 170.

Content therefore gets adjusted to the new leveling gear progression curve, and given that stat values grow exponentially, it is easy to see how even small jumps in expected ilevel at any given player level result in mobs gaining 2X or more HP.

Why these changes are pushed to include instanced or end-game zones or why they aren’t restricted to characters in Chromie Time is beyond me.

Maybe they will revert the changes to instanced mobs or maybe we’ll get a buff as these changes are just like the squashes that got buffs in the past as in they reduce our relative power.

But I doubt it - we’ll get gaslight by Ion and told something similar to ‘level 80 and new gear will fix it’.

I read that patch notes where they said they would smooth out the leveling experience with better item level rewards, but it’s all jacked up. Mythic legion, bfa, and SL raids reward near identical ILVL. Also, MYTHIC shadowlands dungeons drop ilvl 60 gear (which vendor for 30 silver…) and Molten Core drops item level 140.

I’m crossing my fingers that “wait until level 80!” is the solution
