BFA kills the game for alt lovers

I agree with Gaege. There are some people in this thread that are talking about alts and others that are talking about multiple mains.

This xpac is fine for alts. It seems like a pain for more than one main.

Takes 20mins tops to finish the weekly if you do it right

Unfortunately my main is a Holy Priest and good god do I dread Shadow this expansion. The antihealer attitude for IE was a bit intimidating, but I’ll just have to suck it up and do them as Shadow I guess.

No idea if IE are antitank.

Anyone can help pull the entire island to aoe down, healer or not

I mean, this actually sounds fun and chaotic.

Group of 3. Split up. Pull entire island while mounted. Meet at extractor or some determined location. Aoe/win/queue again

Is almost none existent. Never before have we been handed gear as quickly as we are now to get to almost heroic raid level.

Rank 1 and 2 essences are practically handed out.

Repeat after me. Those are multiple mains and not alts. Also you can have a fresh 120 410+ IL with a lvl 50+ neck in 2 weeks with out a lot of work. Mechagon throws 420 trinkets and rings at you. Nazjatar throws everything else at you. If you get unlucky with a weapon you can get a 410 easy from the first PvP reward.

[BFA KILLS THE GAME FOR ALT LOVERS]

and also game lovers everwhere.
Legion was actually interesting and felt like it was at last somewhat a game for me
even if that artifact weapon did make the game about it instead of what games like this are supposed to be about
our character.
BFA feels cheap and labored.
The witch questline was compelling.
The rest is just

Alts have a huge boon once we unlock pathfinder. Then add in that we can purchase a complete 385 level set and have it waiting for them to hit 120 is amazing.

Not sure how much more there can he for alts.

This expansion has been quite alt-friendly for me. I like having some Benthic gear to mail to my other toons.

I quit for 3 years during WoD. Getting my level 90+ alts up to speed has been quite easy:

  • Fly around Draenor while fully rested with the 20% xp boost potions to get to 100
  • Fly around Broken Isles doing invasions to hit 110
  • I leveled my guardian druid through tanking random Timewalking dungeons in about 2 days

Between badges, Benthic and the Nazjatar opener, he had a 360+ ilvl and a level 35 neck 2 hours after dinging.

Personally, I don’t see the point at gearing up my alts to the teeth, or doing any sort of extra grinds on them. Typically, I just level their trades.

The one thing that this expansion really missed the boat on, in my opinion, would be the professions. I simply don’t see the point at leveling them up.

You don’t need to do that now. It is way easier to do an alt now then in Wrath

You been paying attention to how Naz catch up BoA gear is out performing mythic raid gear? With weekly catch up it has gotten easier then ever to get 50+ neck level. Also if you are talking about min maxing and maximum performance at high level competitive levels, then you do not have alts.

not just alts. I’m a resto druid. that likes to actually play resto druid. I’m forced to play a different spec to grind wq or whatever. it’s lame.

If you unlock pathfinder and spend about 45 mana pearls for a set of armor from Nazjatar your alt is already leaps and bounds ahead of your main by the time you hit 120 on him or her.

Or just wait until world quests drop benthic. Between that and rares, I’ve had enough pieces to completely gear 2 alts (though I split it up and supplemented gear on 3 toons so far, and I have about half a set waiting for other toons to hit 120.)

This is the way to do it.

Dude, I leveled a holy pally back in 2006 when I first started playing. Respec’ing wasn’t an option due to cost. And even if you did respec then, you needed an entirely different set of gear in your bags.

Things are a bit easier now!

just dont care about bfas end game and enjoy your alts.

I did the same. I think I have 9 of my 10 level 110 guys holding a full set just waiting for me to get around to getting them to 120.

I didn’t even go crazy with it. Just the normal dailies to get rep up for pathfinder.

I used to love leveling new alts just for the sake of it, not as another main, not as a backup, not for professions, just love seeing old content and the leveling process in general. But ever since BFA i stopped leveling alts altogether and it’s solely because of the bad class mechanics. Like what’s the point playing classes with terrible rotations?

The funny thing is people are complaining about having to play “alts” to get them to the same level as mains and then talk about Wrath and playing classic (which the person on the last thread did). I mean doing 30-60 min of dailies to get your “alt” geared and ready for heroic raiding in 2 weeks is some how too much. They talk about needing specific azurite traits to be competitive and yet completely ignore the need for sets in previous xpacs.
