I was thinking of leveling a rogue but was curious if i Should do it now with the 50% or the prepatch since the leveling expereince will be easier to level also. Will be doing a monk also since I love mop monks but cant do that 1 till prepatch
It won’t matter too much tbh right now is pretty good bc we have Joyous Journey’s and also Midsummer buff as well for an extra 10%. Depending on how hard or how much time you put into leveling you could get 1-70 in like 12 hours right now. It’ll probably be roughly the same in MoP prepatch unless Joyous Journey’s continues throughout prepatch.
Regardless I mean you could level a character now and kinda mess around with it learn some basics or whatnot if you havn’t played it before until prepatch then level a monk during the prepatch and gear both extremely easily due to DS already being easy but also prepatch classes doing like 5x more damage than rn to prep for mop
Interesting question. A lot of this depends on speculation, etc. I think the JJ buff has been data-mined to end with MoP launch (so we should have it during prepatch). MoP prepatch should bring - Heirlooms scaling to 85 (you need to purchase the upgrades for Justice Points), reduced exp needed for leveling from 80-85. So leveling from 80-85 should be much less of a grind than it is today.
Leveling some professions might change a little bit too, things like Alchemy specializations would start requiring the MoP items (i.e. Transmute specialists will need Living Steel instead of Truegold, etc)., so that could weigh a bit into my decision as well. My thoughts are if I am doing an alchemist to level to at least 75 (level required to learn Cata alchemy and level that up to where I can learn the specialization). If I was not looking to do alchemy then I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
So long story short, if it was my I would get to at least 75-80 prepatch, and not stress too much about the rest. If I had time to level to 85 I would keep at it, if not it is not worth burning yourself out for. MoP is an amazing expac (IMO), and I wouldn’t want to be burned out on Cata to where I wouldn’t enjoy MoP as much.
I believe if you’re leveling from scratch then JJ is faster, but 80-85 receives a bigger nerf to the exp needed in prepatch, so it depends on where you’re starting from
I might also be completely wrong, I haven’t been paying too much attention
It ends at prepatch
