I want the Female Human Hand of Justice animation back.
Well, an environment where people say “Paladins have Hand of Justice” in tones of envy would also be something it’d be nice to have back, rather than “Paladins have a 10-yard, single-target, magical stun, LOL”.
I got to 70, and gotta say, you don’t realize how good old crusader stirke feels until you realize how hard it hits, as well as divine storm.

I’m personally a fan of Exorcism. That thing hits like a truck. In greens that thing crits for over 2k with Glyph of Exorcism, easily the highest damage spell (outside of maybe HoW which is pretty close but I think slightly under it).
Edit - Just checked and Exorcism is 100 base damage under HoW, same scaling.

The excuse for getting rid of Exorcism - that it was a low priority spell and scaled badly because it only scaled off spellpower was never really legitimate. They could always have bumped its co-efficient and made it scale off weapon damage (and then they made everything come off AP or SP anyway, so the problem would’ve solved itself).
There was never any need for BoJ. There was never any need for CS to hit as weakly as it does now - in fact as the physical, in-melee strike it should probably have always hit harder than Judgement (and this would’ve reduced the big ‘problem’ they had with Ret doing good damage at range as well), but for some reason they up-powered Judgement, and replaced Exorcism with a 10-yard physical attack that they made matter by stacking with HoPo generation (and good damage when it first turned up). Of course now it’s damage is poor at we hit it for the HoPo and the procs.
It’s be nice for it to feel good to smack someone with CS, or even Judgement, for the damage, rather than for some glowy light to pop up.

I mean if WotLK is anything to go by, it already scaled with both spell power and AP equally anyway.
Although I can’t recall, but if they got rid of Sheathe of Light’s effect come MoP/WoD I can see how it would have lost out on the double dipping it previously benefited from.
But as you said, it’s never really an excuse when they can either just scale it better or simply adjust the balance.
Like, you guys literally have control over the game’s coding, you could make it hit like a nuke if you wanted. Priority number 1 all the way.
Yes a proc is a problem if you still don’t want to press it after it lights up until you have nothing else to press. But that is something easily addressed, and not only that, but during those times we had a lot of free GCDs woven into our rotation anyway, so whilst low prio it wasn’t just left uncast for minutes on end.

Churchmouse, you freaking ROCK. Thank you for that, and thanks for all of your feedback as well. I hope they take it all to heart.

I don’t even mind hardcasting it because I still don’t have AoW. It’s quite a booom.
Nice to see warriors getting a big blue post about their class that the devs said they were mostly done with before we get ours(IF we even get one)…/s

I often read other classes forum posts and is actually insane how feedback gets posted, devs respond in days or a week and from that people keep posting further polishing the class as a whole. Maybe when 11.0 is on the horizon blizzard will actually streamline and put the same standard of communication for ALL classes. Maybe

So I repeated your testing on Turn Evil on the PTR and tried a few different areas. Raven Hill it failed to destroy a single mob, but as is the case of a fear pulled everything for miles around. 15 casts and nothing.
So I sought out some “trivial” undead. The shades in Townlong Steppes. Again another 15 casts with no results.
Moved on to Drustvar and the Restless Bones and mobs in Barrowknoll Cemetery failed to yield results with about thirty casts between the two areas.
My conclusion is that either the “chance to destroy lesser undead” is not yet implemented, what is defined as “lesser” undead is not clearly defined (I would assume non elite,) I have really horrible RNG and the proc chance is extremely low, or it is failing to work in legacy content, or some combination of the above.
The problem still remains that it is a fear effect and the feared mob will run and pull other mobs. In organized PvE raid or mythic + this is a bad thing. Even in open world content this risks pulling more than you can handle when at level appropriate content.

I really hate hearing that the proc chance is so low (or possibly, not turned on).
If Blizzard doesn’t go with the suggestion to simply combine Turn Evil with Holy Wrath, I would ask that they change the Fear effect into the Terror effect that Shadow Priests have.

My guess is that turn evil will function to how ashbringer functioned in Legion and turn the creature to ash (I hope so at least).
Turn evil needs to be instant tho. Make the ability baseline and the talent make it instant. Its ridiculous that even a flair ability can’t be made to be more functional.

The thing with Ashbringer is that it/was an aoe ability so even at a low proc chance you had multiple rolls going at the same time.
Outside of pvp the gamble is not worth it, and I doubt it’ll work on player controlled units.
The ashbringer proc was literally flavor (legion as a whole added so much flavor really cool). Like it happened once in a lifetime and you were not counting on it to oneshot a pack of demons in the open world. If they are adding this to TE then dont state it in the tooltip. Just have it happen. So people dont go out their way trying to oneshot enemies.

Another week, no relevant changes (besides Sanctified Wrath perhaps).
Good job, dear devs. /s
Why is there zero communication when there are so many good suggestions in the class beta thread?

And here we are at the end of another week!
So, what bets do we have going? Surprise feedback? Surprise update? Total class redeeming update WITH feedback? Or, crushing silence?
TAKING ALL BETS!
I’ve got 40,000 bronze pieces on a ninja update to Devotion Aura, from 3% to 3.001%. I know, it’s madness, but I’m feeling lucky!

I am being 100% serious no sarcasm no mocking. Nothing will happen. Maybe next week they will fix half the tree not working properly, and aw talents not benefitting each other and thats it.

The sad part is that all this really bothers me when it shouldn’t. It’s just a game but it was a big part of my life til season 4 and it really hurts to see how we are being treated. I’m already just playing WotLK classic but I guess as soon as I ding 80 I will just stop playing. I don’t have the drive to seek another guild and play a game from 14 years in the past (man, did we get some good QoL updates in the last years).
I just don’t understand what we did wrong (besides choosing paladin as a class which seems to be a cardinal sin) to deserve this kind of radio silence.
DF really got me hyped with the trailer but this has all died in the last weeks of alpha/beta. I’m just not interested in playing it anymore.
Sry for the blogpost.

Well, I was sure the past couple Fridays (which seem to be unofficial feedback days) we were going to get something and I was wrong.
I will say tho, that if its not this week (maybe next at the absolute latest), its never coming.

A lot of us are with you on this my friend, even if some of our group won’t ever admit it. I’ve thought about playing WotLK classic, but it will drive me crazy to play a Paladin in its former awesomeness.
I honestly don’t understand why most of our traditional playstyle can’t be used today. A revamp of our proper Seals and Auras is totally possible. Adding in the (very, very few) new spells that have come along since WotLK would round out our Spec Trees nicely.
Honestly, I’m with you both. I have the terrible feeling that whomever is working on our class, is just going to coast on feeble Trees we have until next week. Then they’ll tweak another spell name or two, and ride off into the sunset.
