Beta PVP Gear Set Bonuses

Hi all,

Not sure if this has been posted before but it looks like the set bonuses for pvp are:
(2) versatility increased by 131
(4) when you are stunned. harden your resolve, absorbing 128,948 damage for 10 seconds(cannot occur more than once every 2 mins)
(6)killing enemy players grants Breakers Frenzy, increasing versatility and movement speed, can stack up to 10 times

I honestly think that it is not a good way to approach PVP with 4 set only proccing on stuns. People will just wait out the absorb then have their big goes. I understand that its the first iteration of pvp gear though, I hope it gets improved soon.

Discuss.

Tht 6 set is gonna be wild on a spriest sniping kills in bgs lol.

Almost seems as useless as adaptation. Feel like you can just stun to get the absorb to proc then do a real go next time. Triple cheap opener and it’s gone lmao. Might hurt people that don’t track it in a longer game and do a go into it on their second proc. Sounds good for BGs though.

Those are just the open world set bonuses though, no confirmation that the honor/conquest sets are going to be the same set bonus

I’ll have to hop on PTR when I get home and look. But I’ve only seen one post about those bonuses, and as I said, they were tied to the open world set

Where they should be with Mages and Locks.

Thats a beefy shield. Will it scale with Versatility? Isnt this Set bonus only for the set that is below the honor set? What health pool will people have at max gear 70?

Guess depends on build with the return of Stam gems and some Leg enchants etc.

that actually pretty cool

eh not a fan, I don’t think it should ever be the ‘wrong’ action to stun someone when trying to kill them. We already had azerite fortification and that got removed because it was dumb to heal your opponent during ur go.

i’m sure most people see this as a great defense against the hated rogue mages, but it screws over a lot of other classes. e.g. Windwalkers and their 1 min stun cd. 4Set the first stun - safe, trink the 2nd stun - safe, repeat infinitely

I hope this is just a world pvp thing like some people are saying

Oh boy, Great Value Swifty is back how fun.

It actually hurts mage/rogue less as they have access to the stuns way more often.

It is the world pvp set (not sure if honor/conquest will have the same bonuses). Also, I think only three or four of the pieces have versatility on them and IIRC it’s all crit/vers.

I dont like the 4 or 6 set at all, not the right direction IMO. All the set bonus’ should be is passive stuff thats balanced around PvP in general.

I.E.

4 set - increases stamina by 10%
6 set - damage to enemy players increased by 15%

This way there is an obvious advantage to using PvP gear to PvP over PvE gear and no classes/specs are disproportionally effected.

There is also this strange pvp starter gear that is crafted. It’s for level 61 and there is no obvious upgrade path for it in game as of yet. Also, no set bonus on it atm.

If history repeats itself, the pvp gear will be one of the last things they iron out before it goes live.

I kinda like the stun shield. Makes the cheese openers that most people hate harder to pull off

All it’s going to do is change the meta to something stupid like “okay you stormbolt the kill target and lets hide behind a pillar until dr’s fall off”

Rm will probably just do what it has been doing which is open somebody then immediately swap the go.

Yeah screw all that. The shield just means I need to do MORE damage

This is a buff to RM more than a nerf lol. IE Blink stun = infinite shielding for mage. Rogue caught in a stun on the run - pretty much immunes it with a shield. Stun stun stun reset 20 sec and send the go.

Gives the resetter comps even more ways to survive pressure comps like Ret War and turbo.

I can’t imagine rogue ever dying with double vanish and stealth conduit
