if they don’t matter then why don’t they just put the gear on a vendor for a couple gold? I play the game for all its content. and I have the most fun with 4 of my friends trying to do heroics with crap gear in the first week, it was the most fun I had in TBC in the entire expansion. you should not be able to do heroics at lvl 78 in greens, and that’s exactly what’s happening in beta right now.
Lots of people play for dungeons. Hell I didn’t have time or commitment to raid until Legion came out.
Also they can totally buff dungeons. They are already doing this with Naxx, and I hope they extend this philosophy of proper tuning to dungeons as well.
People don’t enjoy wrath for its dungeon difficulty, unless you are speaking of lack of difficulty.
Stop with this nonsense lol. Normal & heroic dungeons were designed prior 3.3.0
It is designed for people in greens though. People who may not understand their class completely.
Dungeons and heroic dungeons in wrath are designed for people to learn how to play the game in a group setting, not for challlenge.
Just do what we did back in original. Start taking off gear pieces until it reaches the desired level of difficultly. Or just start replacing dps with frost mages… Are the guys streaming these heroics walking around in mostly Sunwell gear? Are they burning consumes? Are they gemmed and enchanted?
Also, wrath was designed to accommodate the skill range you get from having 12 million different players. You’re also playing with 3.3.5 talents and abilities that are completely fixed and balanced compared to how the classes were released at wrath launch.
wrath dungeons were designed to grind over and over again for rep gains (wearing tabards) and tokens to buy vendor gear.
of course they weren’t much of a challenge- as long as you interrupted adds.
What you’re looking for is Cataclysm.
It doesn’t require LFD. We were running dungeon “with random people of all skill levels” prior to 3.3.0
If you think dungeons were designed around a feature which was integrated like 1 year later you are the “pea-brain” one.
Or its the last patch of the expansion… so its facerole bc of that?
Even in OG Wotlk the heroics were a pushover.
Why are we surprised?
For those of you looking for a challenge of skill and reflex, may I recommend Elden Ring? I like that WoW is more about preparation and grinding. It’s the type of game you can play in an inebriated state with friends. Stop trying to turn WoW into an Esport. Go play Elden Ring naked with no summons and then we can talk about skill.
Thanks to that squish some “classic” dungeons got hard. Not all are tuned well for the squish you see.
HAd a wrath hit once tank just got dropped. They weren’t bad. Healz wasn’t bad either. one boss just got tuned real bad or wasn’t tuned at all for cases where it could be hit not with the right levels and the skills/talents they unlock.
Pre-squish…you’d hit this with a 60 to 80 toolkit. post squish…you could get a crew not even at that 60-80 skill/talent setup. Wipes happened till we worked around that.
That’s hard to believe considering heroics launched on 3.0.1 and RDF launched on 3.3.1
Sigh, RDF was in development and had a lot of snags, therefore it was delayed… but yes Wraith dungeons and heroics were designed with RDF in mind.
Besides all of these points… again Dungeons are not designed to gate players from content… it is always to prepare you for content… literally the design.
No. If it’s was the case they would have changed dungeons with the introduction of RDF. Maybe ICC dungeons were designed with RDF in mind. But not the previous ones.
Especially when they were available from start meaning they were in developpement during TBC already.
It’s like saying they designed Cata raids around LFR. Meanwhile, the first LFR raids were so badly tuned.
Documented proof for this claim/opinion?
Guys, we shouldn’t buff Naxx though because that will not be wrath >:(
shh
truth is contrary to the narrative the lfd crybabies tale.
Just so we’re clear, even if this were true, it’s completely irrelevant. Times change and the players have changed with it. What was fine for Wrath isn’t necessarily fine for Classic Wrath. There’s been a 10 year gap in-between that you aren’t accounting for.
