Does it require a paid sub to be able to opt in? Because I use wow tokens to play atm.
If you want to participate in the Classic Beta, you will need to be opted in AND have an active account. Doesn’t matter the source of the game time.

It just requires you to have an active World of Warcraft account, Valdius. The game time from the WoW Tokens count. 
Make sure you have opted in.
