Blizzard didn’t make you do anything. You want a CHANCE to play beta? Subscribe. Don’t want to subscribe? Wait til August like the rest of us. The choice was yours.
No, I think it alienated many of the people who would have been the best testers… those no longer playing WoW. However, since this is a different Beta experience, and is being kept very small overall… I can see them doing ti differently… whether I agree with it or not.
i ended up using a token myself, with no expectation of getting chosen… and I did not get chosen (yet)… but I did get in the stress test.
i don’t feel salty about it… I don’t “deserve” beta access… and just because I really, really want it doesn’t give me the right to criticize Blizzard about how they did it.
And believe me… I criticize Blizzard for many things. And did so about requiring a sub for a chance. But they did not MAKE me sub for a chance… I chose to.
What in the heck are you talking about? I didnt say they made us subscribe for beta. I said they made us sub for a chance at beta. I had zero chance at beta if i didnt sub. I was made to sub if i wanted a chance to get into beta.
You took a gamble and lost.
My friend got access to beta and stopped playing around level 10. Said he cant be bothered with the old play style lol.
They didn’t bait anyone on subbing for beta. They just stated a rule that you have to be currently subbed to get invited. Now I do question Blizz on this one.
Pokemane never played wow and she got a beta invite. I doubt very much that
she had a sub in wow and still got invited.

They are inviting tons of streamers… its to advertise the game and produce video footage of gameplay in order for bugs to be found.
Omfg. If someone says i said they made me sub one more time. I’m saying my only way to get a chance at beta was to subscribe. Ill rephrase what i said since everyone thinks i am saying they made me do it. Here is my new way of saying it for those that are so hard headed: I decided to sub to beta because it was the only way i could get a chance at an invite. I am salty at blizzard for doing it this way because they’ve never done that in the past and have only opened it to an EXTREMELY small scale. They did say it would be small scale, but i didn’t realize small scale meant the 1% of the 1%. That’s my fault for them not elaborating further.
What are you talking about, sir? You came here to complain about not getting chosen for beta (yet) after knowing full well what the terms for a chance at admission were. Now you’re lashing out because you lost the lottery (so far) and decided that Blizzard took advantage of you. People point out how this is not at all the case and you tell them they’re taking your words out of context. This makes me think you might be having a stroke at your keyboard or something because that’s now how reason works.

Yeah and this is the reason my friend isnt playing it.
He dislikes streamers and cant invite friends to make it worthwhile playing. If he could invite people interested in playing it, he might sink some time into it.
I am not at all complaining about not getting in. I’m complaining about blizzard’s implementation of this closed beta. I never even said that I didn’t get in. You are expounding on my words to make them be what you want them to be
I agree, I wish that I could bring my friends into the beta with me… and to be completely honest… most of them are pretty salty themselves. But… having said that… this isn’t early access… its not about “enjoying the game”, its about testing the game. I will have plenty of time to play the game with all of my friends over the next 2+ years.

Oh totally but it would make running around testing out obscure content if you could do with a friend or 2, worthwhile.
Otherwise you are just running around testing stuff solo.
Most of the group related content will have ample numbers of tests to determine bugs.

Did they send someone physically to your home and forcefully make you sub? No they didn’t.
Stop being an entitled little child and grow up.
Not everyone is going to get into a closed beta.

Read further up. I’m not arguing this anymore.
Completely agree that it would make it more fun… BUT… in my time on the beta I have met and interacted with more people, quested with more people… etc. than I have in YEARS on retail. The game forces you to play with others… maybe your friend needs to open up a bit!

It is hard to tell what people really mean when they use the wrong words. That is how language works. I am not trying to be a jerk, but otherwise it is impossible to communicate.
But now your OP makes a better argument, but one I don’t agree with. They made a decision for whatever reason, and you took a gamble.
