I would assume DA won’t work with Atonement heals, and will just work off Penance, Flash Heal/Shadowmend, Renew, PW:R, etc. crits. Mostly just because if it does, that’s some bananas scaling later on.
I guess we just gotta wait for the patch to confirm for sure though.
honestly who ever said its on the tree with like evange as a split node is probably right, the math behind balancing atonement with da if its critical can produce bubbles on 18+ ppl. is a nightmare scenario and will just result in us getting the nerf bat.
I still hope they’ll add an effect for Holy Word life/Salvation to Divine word. And additionnal Holy effect to Halo/Star similar to what they did for Disc. And resonat word affecting ore than just heal and flash heal. I know its alot to ask for but I think everything I asked isnt too far fetched and would fit well
That would make a lot of sense. To not have ‘double’ crits for the same source of damage.

Critical Strike grants your damaging spells and heals a chance to double their value. That said, it is worth noting that it does not double-dip with regards to healing (Atonement heals cannot be critical hits; they only heal for the amount of damage that was done, which is the only portion that can be a critical strike).
Although, this doesn’t necessarily contradict your statement

Divine Word and Holy Word Life doesn’t replace Flash Concentration. It’s not even close. A heal that requires your target to be below 35% hp in a 20 man raid environment with 4 other healers is barely going to see any use at all.
Divine Word: I’m not sure exactly what it does, but it doesn’t cover the -40% hps gap between 5 stack FC Heal vs Flash Heal. It’s like going into mage tower and trying to heal the npcs and seeing how bad your single target healing is without flash concentration.
The issue regarding FC is that we were pigeon holed into it. None of our legendaries (or even tier set bonus) propped up any of our heals. We had an entire expansion and they didn’t make any conduits, legos, talents, etc. to prop up Renew, Prayer of Healing, etc.
Holy should be able to play many different play styles. Its supposed to be versatile. And they did mention they wanted to add more versatile playstyles to Holy so I guess we see what happens on the alpha.
It gives your Serenity a 50% throughput boost, and gives a throughput boost to your heal/flash heal for the next 15 seconds…and your next heal/fheal will also be buffed 50% further by Resonant Words. So you basically get 15 seconds of additional single-target throughput, that can cleave via Trail of Light.

We have plenty of single-target healing in our kit, as well as talents that buff them. Heal, flash heal, Serenity - and all three buffed by Divine Words, as well as other throughput talents like Resonant Words. We also have Guardian Angel which makes Guardian Spirit a 1 min CD almost every time.
In a raid environment, I think you’re right. In a M+ context, I think it will be useful.
If you’re concerned about raid HPS, Holy is getting a slight buff to its AOE via talents. Tuning is also pending on virtually all our spells. Who knows, they might even buff Prayer of Healing finally!
I see. So the atonement critical is both generated by damage crit or atonement crit itself so as to not double dip. Intwrresting.

I’m wondering if we’re going to keep rapture with all this. I feel DA kinda overlap with it a lot while both have different usecases where each is interresting
If I shield someone else, I can no longer shield myself for X seconds. Not the same. The only way this would reduce the impact to the priest him/herself is if Charitable Soul also procs Body and Soul. I also think the value of the shield from Charitable Soul would need to be increased. The mana return from Shield Discipline would have to go way up as well. So many talents impacted. IMO, Body and Soul still loses some value because you can only shield 1 person every X seconds.
I loved combining Feather (x1/2/3) then Power Word: Shield then Spectral Guise my way behind enemy lines hitting each feather. Or a similar effect getting away from enemies. Though this is taking into consideration that Spectral Guise will make a return (one can hope lol).
Just food for thought if Spectral Guise does indeed show up.
Yeah I don’t want to waste Rapture just to get the movement benefit of Body and Soul back. The main point I was making was that this PW:S change reduces the value of Body and Soul on a choice node where Feather is the other choice…kind of a non choice.
This is healing done for Mount Hyjal, I’m in BT gear here. This just concluded about 10 minutes ago. Divine Aegis is not the main source of healing - but PWS is. Divine Aegis isn’t as broken as some of you think it is. The Divine Aegis in Wrath is 30% of crit heal.
