Who do yall think is the best PvP healer in classic WoW? I went in depth discussing it in a video I made last night if you’re interested:
Before watching I’d rank it paladin > priest > shaman / druid.
Paladin vs Priest was very difficult for me too. In the end I gave priest no.1 because of their versatility.
Paladin
/thread honestly
This is coming from someone who will be a priest healer too. Paladins are just way to powerful overall for pvp healing.
I would say any healer willing to heal you! Lol
The nice thing is that priests and paladins are mandatory for alliance premades and they both shine in the role they provide. The reason I give paladins the slight edge is in wpvp 2v2 3v3 etc. Paladins teamed up with a couple people in the world can be a huge headache for horde mages and rogues.
That sums up vanilla , “i heal enough in raids, i am dps now!”
Depends on the setting.
In general though it is pally. Though in certain instances it could be druid, priest or shammy.
Pretty much this… if it’s primarily a fight with casters and healers, then priest or shamans would probably be better because they can dispel them more and mana burn or earth shock as there isn’t as much of a threat of being one shot or getting pushed back on spells or being stun locked. But if you throw a rogue or warriors in the mix then Paladin is just going to be better because they are just passively better at not being stun locked or two shot.
Priest and shamans are really good healers, don’t get me wrong. But they flop like a sack when focused
But btw I did like the video, just a little tip though… don’t place your mic in front of your mouth but off to the side. Every time you saying something with a p it’s blows up my speakers
Public forums answer: There is no “best” PvP healer.
Secret Alliance-only forums answer: Paladin is the best PvP healer.
I’d rate it, from best to worst, Paladin -> Druid -> Shaman -> Priest.
The best healer is the one that stays alive longest. Priest is too easy to drop for organized pvp in classic imo. The only thing that keeps me from rating Druid above Paladin is that hots are dispellable.
You’re going to be in for a treat lol
How ya figure? If you check my profile you’d see that I was a classic player. And not only that, but I did the PVP grind.
Im just relating my first hand experience, having played through that era.
Because you rank Druids at number two? Not only that you think that the only thing holding them back was that their hots can be dispelled… And your experiences back in vanilla are pretty much not applicable at this point. I was also around during vanilla, and until I started doing research again once it was announced, most of my memories were incorrect.
Druids aren’t bad, don’t get me wrong. But they are probably the worst healer in vanilla for pvp by far when talking about an overall ranking. They are good for FC but besides that… their heals are weak… they cost lots of mana, and like you said most of them can be dispelled. They can kite really well, I’ll give them that. But when discussing who is the better healer… that doesn’t really help considering they aren’t doing any real healing at all to anyone while they are kiting.
I’m most premades resto Druids are only taken in wsg for an fc and that’s about it…
They are doing more than any other healer getting assist trained. All I can say is, once we’ve been in new classic for a while for people to gear up, check the meter at the end to see who is actually putting out the most healing in WSG/AB.
Paladin is way stronger.
- Plate armor + auras to mitigate damage
- Strongest utility with Freedom/Protection
- Divine Shield is the best “Get off me” button in the game
- HoJ is a very strong CC ability vs Psychic Scream (stuns are harder to remove than fears)
- Extremely mana efficient heals
- Can cleanse poisons (Priests can’t I believe, not 100%) so no Viper sting.
Paladins by far the best. They have the armor of a tank warrior, best mana efficient heals, blessing of freedom, un interruptible spell casting, Blessing of protection, list goes on and on
Not…not really though…there’s a reason no team takes more than one in wsg and a lot don’t take any at all for AB as priest, shaman, and pallies are just simply better healers with output and utility. Paladins have oh crap buttons for themselves (bubble), for others (holy shock, sac, BoP, LoH), and a massive amount of utility and buffs (freedoms for warriors, might, wisdom, etc…). Priests and shamans have amazing output with heals on top of crazy utility as well (mana burn, tremor totem, magic dispel, earth shock) while also being REALLY aggressive to the enemy team.
Druids just… don’t really have much. Their heals are weak, they cost tons of mana, they are just as squishy as priest and shaman unless they are sitting in bear which… they aren’t healing while in bear and are just waiting on heals from others. Their cc consists of bear stun, roots, and sleep. 2 of which are basically useless in most scenarios… their heals mainly consist of either low ticking hots that can be dispelled or the painfully long cast healing touch. They just aren’t that amazing compared to others. But they do have their place
Any reason you’d take a priest for, is generally done just as well by Shadow Priests. MC off the LM, Dispel, Bubble, Fort. Etc. The only thing healing priest has going for it in BGs is when it gets opened up on by two rogues, they can spec for spirit of redemption and be able to heal briefly after they are dead lol.
Paladin and Shaman can actually survive a bit for your team to help peel, and a druid in stealth isn’t getting opened up on first.
A druid rogue combo is excellent for sneak capping or defending nodes.
Despite being dispellable, the hots are still good because if you are forcing the Shaman to purge spam or priest to dispel spam, they aren’t really doing anything else.
