Hello to all,
Like the title said, I am looking for the best priest race
I intend on going shadow, until I hit 60, than I am going to switch on Holy (mainly do instance, maybe some raid and a little bit PVP)
Please help me choose the best race for Classic

UD for Horde, dwarf for Ally
Ok I was thinking UD at first, but wanted to be sure
Dwarf - no competition there. Everyone else second rate.
Racial removes blinds and bleeds - which is your main weakness (rogue can’t 100-0 only this priest, all others will fall) . Also removes viper sting which is a priest killer.
Fear Ward - super strong buff
Desperate Prayer - nice heal for your raids and groups where you will need to heal.
Why they are better?
Dwarf for Alliance due to Fear Ward and Stoneform.
Troll for Horde due to Berserking and Shadowguard + Blackout shenanigans.
It’s Troll, hands down. Dwarf in second.
Fear Ward is overrated, in my opinion.
As shadow,
alliance dorf and human are pretty well equal although humans will have a little better longevity.
Horde, undead or troll for pvp, troll for pve. in pve, you’ll never be given the debuff slot for devouring plague so troll’s berserking, even though it only benefits mind blast, will be the only damage boost. Troll’s Shadowguard is amazing for PvP with blackout.
For healing, troll berserking is the best racial and the human spirit racial is pretty good.
Are you choosing faction based on your priest race? It’d help us if you could narrow it to Alliance or Horde
Dwarf: Stone form, instant heal, fear ward.
Human: Perception, rep bonus, instant heal, spirit bonus.
Night elf: Flips and hotness.
Always played horde
Desperate prayer only heals the priest.

Well it’s just Undead or Troll.
Undead Shadow Priests are insane in PvP (especially 1v1) because of their priest racial, devouring plague which is a damage over time plus a heal to you. But you said you’ll probably switch to Holy at endgame right? I’d go Troll for that. Beserking is a nice buff whenever several raid members (including yourself) have low HP.
trick is to use those health to mana stones you get from killing undead npcs -> DP

Yes , i am only going shadow to level up 60
I leveled from 1 to 60 in holy, in vanilla, and I remember the pain I went through.
But my goal is to play healer (holy) in end game
Well I’d just go Troll if I were you my man!
End game as holy, the only race that benefits you in PvE on horde is troll. Undead will only ever give you benefits in PvP.
For alliance, Human is the only one that gives you any benefit but fear ward from dorf is useful on some specific fights and in pvp.
