As per your comment about Orange Marmalade, yea when you talk about the best mage ever that is the first person that comes to mind.
Xaryu wasn’t even selected to play in a arena tournament. Like, there was a pool of people to play with - and not a single person wanted him on their roster.
I do not think for a second he’s to be included in this list.
By THE I think you mean YouTube presence and or twitch. I remember thinking Novoz was incredible at Fire in Cata too.
Dilly brought up a point of tournament players being the top, and I think this is the correct view. The tournament competitors can seemingly crush the ladder, while be a 50/50 team in tournaments. I don’t think every ladder player, despite being a R1 can play in tournaments.
Just my take on it.

The thing with threads like this that aren’t focused on a particular “era” of the game is that you can almost never say who is the best to ever play. Factoring in longevity of someone’s WoW competitive tenure can sway things massively.
