Oh, yeah. I mean, i posted this in another thread but smurfing at low CR isn’t really 1v2’s. At least, it’s not as simple as that IMO.

This is Ziqo 2v1ing two bad subtlety rogues. They already blew all their burst on his partner, and basically didn’t have cds left. So he danced circles around them.

This is ziqo doing a true 2v1 vs Prot Warrior sub rogue, and a much more insane clip IMO. As it’s just him from start to finish.
It’s much more impressive to 2v1 people who haven’t already dumped on your noob partner. A “pure” 2v1 IMO.
streamer 2v1s, and i’d argue, the vast majority of 2v1s we’ll ever see are the first kind. Where it’s a “recovery” 2v1. Very rarely is it a straight up 2v1 you’ll see, 1 player with all CDs vs 2 players with all CDs.

Can’t believe no1 is mentioning Venruki.
He innovated so much for mage PvP.
Imo it’s between him and Raiku, but I will always idolize Orangemarmalade for his 1v2, in a must win tournament game. Insane.

Ven was one of the best theorycrafters when it came to class specific scenarios and still is imo. I would say he was at his peak during Wrath and quite possibly early in Cata too.
And as Dilly said it differs based on time periods. I’ve acknowledged a few players to be arguably the best based on expansions. This is my list if I have to be reasonable:
TBC: Venruki
Wrath: Venruki, Pookz, and Orangemarmalade
Cata: Maybe Venruki? Dunno about anyone else. Maybe Jah was slowly emerging
MoP: Jah and Nolifer (Don’t think there were any other mage players in both regions that came remotely close to these guys in terms of skill)
WoD: Wealthyman, Jah, Raiku, and Thesia (Maybe Gelubaba)
I know there were other really good mages too but maybe the only 1 or 2 other mages I might put up here esp from our region is Mageiden or Rositajonez during this xpac.
Legion: Samiyam, Jah, Wealthy (before he started maining his rogue?) , Alec, Raiku, and Maro.
BFA: Wealthy, Ceralium, Maro, and Raiku.
Should’ve put jah also in that bfa list he was most likely the best us mage in bfa
I personally felt like there were a few mages that toppled Jah this xpac, which was why I left him out. He’s still certainly one of the best, but I think there were better performers in the tourney scene this year.
I didn’t watch the tournaments but individually as a mage it just felt like jah is a better player from my experience. Being able to work as a team in a healthy environment will always beat out individual skill when it comes to the top tho
Idk maybe he didn’t have the greatest synergy with his current team or something this xpac, but his playmaking skills (from my observations in tourneys) didn’t look as versatile as other mages like Wealthy, Maro, Raiku etc… He’s no doubt a fantastic mage, but after WoD it felt like a phase of decline in his skill. This might be either due to his opinion of the game not being that great and complex as it was back in the way during his prime, therefore causing him to not look towards improving as a player, but rather just play for fun.

Cata was when Hansol really took off as fire. He was THE fire mage when fire mage was combustion spread killing entire teams.
What? You have achievements from 2017 and 2018 but okay.
I logged in to upvote you. I had the opportunity to play with Ven long ago. Incredibly talented and intelligent person, one of those types that was like “what would they be doing if this energy went to something other than WoW” lol. Hope he did something awesome
