Always female night elf. You can check the bow animation for proof.
Orcs look pretty good in a lot of hunter sets.

Void Elf for Alliance
Blood Elf for Horde, I say think about making a Horde BE hunter and going for that Dark Ranger look with the warfront gear and head piece from I think Antorus or Nighthold idk which one heh 
and then if BE’s get Dark Ranger skin tones like what has been surmised in Shadowlands customizations you will be A REAL DARK RANGER!VICTORY FOR THE BANSHEE QUEEN!

Well for weapons I would go this
Human: crossbow or gun
Dwarf: gun all day erry day
Dark Iron Dwarf: get a gun and have it be on fire somehow
Kul Tiran: Ehhhhh crossbow or gun
Nelf: Bow
Void Elf: Bow
Pandaren: Crossbow
Mechagnome: Honestly all 3 work if you just get something that looks very mecha-y. I know some Bows and Crossbows have a tech look to them
LF Draenei: Gun
Draenei: Crossbow
Worgen: Gun
Gnome: The biggest freaking gun you can carry

Night Elves are the best looking race, period. lol
Plus our racials fit hunter best.
