I’ve but decided that in the modern age every dps player should have a healer alt. There are too many times where the only limiting factor in qing is lack of healers. Also dps shuffle q times are disgustingly long.
So was wondering if anyone had some good recommendations on healers to play. I’m between disc, pres and hpal. Disc because it’s generally always good, is really offensive and seems to be one of the easier healers to play. Pres because it feels like it can kinda do everything. Or Hpal because I already have paly levelled and have some experience on it.
@tuckbudford haha
disc is the bm hunter of healers
there’s also hpal
Most fun healers by far are pally and dragon and holy priest (when it’s good)
Heal draggy is fun idk about hpal
There’s a reason that Discipline is so fotm. HPal isn’t hard either. MW is also simple rotationally, but demands better positioning, awareness, and juking capability since its externals and emergency buttons are so limited.
Preservation is one of the more difficult healers with a pretty dynamic healing style and high susceptibility to CC/swaps due to short range. But it is very, very fun. If you’re already comfortable with the rest of dragon’s kit, it shouldn’t be too bad to learn.
Disc is D tier unless you just want to get 1800 in 2s and stop then Disc is your go to healer. Evoker is S tier if you have a DK on ur team but otherwise B teir. HPaladin is the unaduterated best healer in the game with no weaknesses, the strongest defensives, mobility for itself and team and is the most braindead easy spec in the game to play it is far superior to Discipline and counters Disicpline hard ontop of double paladin shuffles are the easiest rating ever.
If anyone thinks Disc shuffles are easier than Hpaladin then they aren’t human.
Hpaladin is the BM hunter of healers.
Yeah it also requires playin the weeb class so therefore disc is better (also easier)
Freedom if u here ur a Lamborghini now
Double glare these chimps off u
Hoj this guy into rep into rep
Bop u out of stun kill
ok tru love u for this
Losing blessed hands next season so that play is going to be troll 99% of the time unfortunately
I thought this was well established? I’m not sure because I’ve never played hpally, or BM hunters.
@OP try playing rshaman for fun.
Neither is great atm, but hpriest and rshaman are my favorite healers by far.
Sham has SO many things to do and has arguably one of the highest skill caps (not that that always matters, see rdruid for example).
Hpriest when it’s good just feels bananas in terms of offense, setup, and the healing just feels rotationally good.
I agree with Nas, Rshaman is my favorite healer to play and currently I feel like it is a bit easy to pick up. Pres Evoker is a fun option as well. Evoker felt really awkward to me when I first started playing it but once you get a bit more comfortable, it becomes a lot more fun.

misterweaver monk has easy mechanics and no spammable CC so its easier to position
My list?
Most fun to play: HPriest / RSham
Strongest in arenas: HPal / Pres / DPriest
Strongest in BGB: MW / Pres
They’re all viable, DPriest probably easiest to pick up in general.
Hard disagree.
Rsham is probably the most complicated healer to pick up, just due to the fact that you need to balance your offensive & defensive utility carefully. It’s also just the hardest healer to maximize atm because stopping healing generally means you’re making a mistake or in a losing position.
Rsham is fun tho.
As a noob, I found holy priest very simple to understand, and actually really fun even though it is not the best. I love all the tools it has and pvp talents. I cant imagine how fun it will be once its really good again.
Lightsmith Paladin is all over, red rover (will be nerfed in 11.1).
Evoker, Mistweaver and Disc are a bit complex to pick up as a new healing alt.
Hpriest and Rsham are better suited to pve currently.
This leaves only one option and its an excellent one. Resto Druid. Mobility. Instant casts. Oodles of Utility. Easy to pick up. Low floor, high ceiling.
Maybe its because I’ve always played shaman that I overlook some of the challenges of learning it.
But, with that said, part of me feels like Disc is easier to pick up. Seeing priests who aren’t dispelling, or purging, or fearing and their top damage being Swap with less than 5% of their healing break down being from Atonement really makes me wonder how its possible to play the class so poorly and not just outright lose every game.
