Best class for solo bgs

No it wouldn’t. People do play their favorite class. I only play Tanks and only PvP as Prot. It doesn’t matter how good a Dps spec is for a certain season. I would never play one. The reason why there aren’t 10 vs 10 Tanks is because not everyone enjoys playing a Tank just like some people hate playing a healer.

I disagree, I think balance is the random BG spec and generally less reliant on a competent team than any other.

Having prowl means having the agency to decide who you engage with and when, and having outstanding mobility with a 0 CD root/snare break means being able to bail out when things don’t go as planned or too many enemies join the fight. Balance can fill in as super annoying solo node defenders, scouts, flag/orb carriers, or just scary backline teamfighters.

As most melee (havoc/WW are somewhat exceptional), you have to move as a unit or get outnumbered and die.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the two fillers are separate spell schools and the spender is usable regardless of which school you’re locked out of. It’s just really well-rounded overall.

This is good info! Plus there’s nothing more savage than mass entangling and beaming the entire back line. It’s funny how fast the couple melee die with no healer. Boomkin is pretty solid in randoms. Everything can do well in randoms though, I make enhance work kinda lol…

For sure. I just feel that some specs rely on the team more than others. Classes like warlock really struggle under melee pressure without peels and specs like arms don’t perform very well without consistent heals.

I’d rate balance, rogue (any), havoc, and WW as the least team reliant. I could see fury in there as well.

Ehhh I dunno… They’re pretty tanky, a destro can kill one in an infernal stun + coil lol… Also self peels with infernal stun + double coil isn’t bad. Demo is pretty self reliant too… I’d see this being true of affy maybe.

I’d personally put destro/demo above mage for solo bgs… Gp is disgusting and a good fire with Mecha bracers also sucks but those are pretty rare.

Yeah agreed… Dk feels pretty good too… So many defensives (makes me want to cry as enhance) plus decent sustain with ds. My guy is average geared and it felt almost as good as my fully geared enhance lol…

One I was surprised at how bad it felt was sv hunter. Mines undergeared but holy I get wrecked… Decent damage but so squish. Have to spend 90% of the time kiting.

Balance is good but takes the right player. I play better as balance/feral because druid has always been my goto since vanilla.

I hop on mage for fun but I suck at getting in good polys and rings, etc.

Also, I’m trying out prot pal but it feels very gear dependant. I may just go back to Ret which is a beast when connecting during wings. I want to try hpal again but I just can’t get used to it.

As far as tanks go Prot War is still the most fun for straight up trolling. Tc roots and dragon charge just pins down even the most mobile healers.

Knocked a few flag carriers off twin peaks sides and eots mid too. Fun stuff.

The thing is gear progression is infinite now with no level cap on Heart. Almost at 89 lvl neck now so as this keep going up at some point everyone is undergeared in a BG. The power gap increases and the choice is up to you how big you want to make it. Personally I really enjoy this facet of the game where I can just make one main character a complete beast.

That beast I choose for soloing the game and BGs is Prot Pally

I used to love prot from Cata-WOD but then they moved the silence from Avengers shield to a PVP talent. The spec was extremely strong in shutting down healers in bgs.

Avenging shield (3 sec silence) followed by interrupt, followed by a Stun, followed by another avenger shield, followed by blinding light, and another avengers shield or repetenance if it doesn’t proc. Can get a good 30 seconds where the healer is unable to doing anything.

In group settings this you can stretch it out for around 10 -15 secs for casters being rendered useless.
I don’t see much purpose for the spec in bgs now.

I would say it’s more Azerite trait, essence and Heart level dependent. Obviously having 1 BiS corruption is game changing. My gloves do 10-14% of my damage and make my burst great.

I would say give it a try and get essences. If you get a TD, Tentacle or some Versa % gear you are golden to build around if you got the other stuff done.

The tanking essences make you a beast and I run Crucible for the ranged burst since it does more damage from the synergy of Prot.

My inspiration came from the solo god himself Rextroy who just got world first Solo Raid boss Skittra downed as Prot Pally. Watch over some of his solo PvP guides.

PS- Most of the critics here have zero clue how the current gear works or understand Prot Pal.

You just wrote that you “global people” as prot as a generic/general statement and you are saying he’s not logical. The irony :slight_smile:

And also his claims of globaling people are with non class abilities. So any spec has access to what he’s using to do damage.

In Solo combat ya … but with a good healer as backup, Enh can melt face in BG’s.

You still don’t understand fully how the gear combinations works. Some classes can use the same gear but it only does massive damage because of Prot synergy. You really don’t understand how the essences work either. It can’t be duplicated by Dps or Healers.

I actually plan on making a full post with the math when I complete my gear and hit 90 lvl Heart. Maybe I will even make a video explaining how the gear and essences really work to clear up the confusion for the community.

I hit 220k Crucibles in PvE then it ticks for 75% of that dmg as a Dot. In PvP I can hit 50-80k normal hits and crit over 100k. It actually does a lot of damage with synergy and understanding how the essences work.

Don’t worry I am not done yet, I just came back and been theorycrafting this build while still gearing up. I know I can get the damage a lot higher.

Yea man no one cares about pve. My TD on my 472 tank dh has me pulling 300k dps in dungeons on some pulls. It’s useless in pvp.

As can every other spec lol…

You would think with a 472 tank you would understand how the gear works.

For the last time Dps can’t reach the highest numbers. You act like essences are the same no matter what. They aren’t. You obviously don’t know everything that affects them or the synergy that creates with corruption gear.

Don’t worry I will make a detailed thread to help the community and maybe you can read it and learn a few things if you want. I don’t mind sharing info for the community could care less what you think though since you clearly are only here to be argumentative and disagree.
