Best battlegrounds dps PVP class

Hey all, just returned from a 3 yr hiatus. I was curious if Warlock, mage or hunter are best for dps in battlegrounds right now in BFA. If so, which stands out? Any input would be greatly appreciated . I’m also open to other class advice as well.
Thx!

Fire Mage is really standing out. Warlocks have immobility problems, but if you master the gates you can still do well. Hunter I have no idea, basically i just look for them after turtle fades and rip em up.

avoid afflic warlock like the plague for pvp. Great for PvE imo tho

I was reading about mages and some say frost is good. I used to play Fire mage in Legion and I loved it! Is fire better than frost in pvp for BFA

Right now, when I’m playing healer, marksman hunter is the bane of my existence. Frost mage…very annoying but getting nerfed in 8.1. Fire mage is pretty decent. Warlock…meh.

Fire and frost are good, I see mages go fire for team fights and frost for base sitting.

Fire is in a nice spot right now for PvP. The fun factor is there too.

Yea, I see tons of fire mages and they all look like they’re having fun while they’re killing me. I might just end up leveling one myself just for greater pyroblast.

Whichever you choose I hope you have a blast, and welcome back!

Fire mage and survival hunter are very fun and very effective in BGs.

Afl is amazing, having a blast.

Also gates can get you on top of almost any surface, so pick the pvp talent for longer and reduced cast time on gate.

Thx for the input. I rolled a mage yesterday and am leveling him now. Seems way squishy though lol.

Not sure what level you get this but make sure you have your shield ability up at all times. It should last a minute for whatever spec you decide.

Fire Mage is unbelievable.

Don’t let these people fools you. Fire mage is good, but you can roll your face across your keyboard on a balanced druid and do more damage to an enemy team.

Fire mage is a strong single target damage dealer indeed, but if you want to top damage with half the effort go druid.

I have a 120 fire mage and I can tell you that you will spend a majority of your time spell locked. Yes you can top charts but you will definitely have to work much harder for it.

I’m not sure why people think mages have it so well. They still get trained easily, and most the time you just be doing your best to survive and not get kicked on your gpyros or CC’d on combustion.

Getting gpyros off does feel good, but having mained a mage and then switching, mages are just merely annoying. I’ve seen only a few team fights where a Mage’s presence really made a big difference. If you enjoy playing one, then by all means go for it, but after recurrent nerfs they’re not what I personally enjoy anymore.

Definitely be using your temporal shield early or when you see you’re about to get trained. Always be on the move as well and try to juke interrupts so you can get your gpyros off.

Very accurate. I’d give up all the gold I’ll ever earn in WoW to never see the phrase “fire locked” again.

Fire mage Gods need massive nerfs. They are broken and ruining PvP. If the other team has fire mages i just leave and do something else.
