Yea pet classes are usually much better due to just having good pet powers and/or just having the pet tank. I also really like druid because of the move speed and stealth.
For me playing priest is just horribly sluggish due to no decent move speed abilities and if you don’t get certain powers you will not scale well at all into the later floors.

Worst: not sure, of the one’s I’ve played Mage is slowest but still does Flawless easily.

i only use this mage and my blood dk main at this time, they are my only two 60s that can access torghast
i like both their AoE (DK blood boil, mage ArcExpl and Blizzard) for taking out pots

Worst for me was rogue. It’s not a sturdy solo class and before you get geared to the teeth it just kinda flops

shaman is powerful, resto shaman especially so.
dh is okay not not that exciting.
priest is dreadful. i can do it but it’s no fun. I’ve done both disc and shadow. neither is fun.

Disc priest feels like garbage in standard Torghast, but it’s okay in twisting corridors. Mage was a lot of fun, getting endless copies.
Mage is worst? Someone is a bad mage.
I’ve played most classes in Torghast. The best is easily shaman followed closely by monks and mages.
Worst is priest though I hear rogue is worst (I don’t have a rogue leveled).
Priest is only bad because they have combos that take FOREVER to ramp up and easily can kill you if you aren’t careful and they have anti synergy where certain powers prevent you from using say mind blast as shadow which is a huge chunk of your damage…they also have just weird synergy like added duration to SW:P yet an AOE when SW:P expires. Priests feel like multiple devs each had wildly different ideas on gimmicks priests could have and all got to implement them at the detriment of each other.
What makes monks OP as sin is 1 single power…corrosive dosage. Without that, monks are just ok. Get 3+ corrosive dosage and you literally run around and push 1 button and win at the game. What makes shamans gods is the fact that everything they get is amazing and all works well together. You can get an essentially perma earth elemental, next to no CD on your respective hard hitting spell, heroism on a totem drop, multiplicative damage on each active totem, extra random totems when you drop a totem (which multiplies still), extra time on heroism, ascendance when you have heroism, and just crazy high burst overall.
Mages are gods because they can get a literal army of mirror images and you can get those mirror images to have “smart AI” (really they just run around and cast more powerful spells alot), alter time can give you free timewarps and reduce CDs to the point you can get near infinite CDs. The invis bomb combo was nerfed pretty hard, but you can still open a floor or end boss with your hardest hitting nuke and super cheese the 20 sec kill bonus point. You can get ice blocks that have no CD and even pulse out freezing damage/stuns.
As for some honorary mentions…
DK’s aren’t weak but are also pretty bad overall. It might be better to say though that they don’t get anything super broken like most other classes get. They do turn into ultra CC machines and while it isn’t super powerful, you can get your 4 horseman to stick with you for each floor. It’s more nifty that amazing though.
DH’s get an honorary mention for being awesome…but alot of that is the nature of DH damage is burst and that is all what Torghast is about. The high mobility and crazy burst really shines and they even can get crazy combos like immunity to damage while channeling eye beams and something like 80% chance to not trigger the cooldown on eye beam and even more crazy nonsense like a 24 second CD on meta which is essentially (or actually is) perma meta.
Anything necrolords can get a cheesy fleshcraft bomb but it takes an epic power and multiple 50% bonuses to fleshcraft and some bonus to health to spice it up…really fun to explode things every 2 mins though.

My frost mage did very well up to layer 8. Once 9.1 hit, only managed to get 3 stars twice at layers 9 & 10 but have failed to kill layer 10 bosses in Korthia i220 gears. Agree with OP that mages are not doing so well solo in this new patch.

Best is hands down Shamans. Like it’s not even close. They can get perma earth ele with perma earthquake around him, if they get the right talents, which is just GG if they get that going. And resto shammys can get a power that makes their healing raid do insane dmg, restos are often doing north of 40k dps with that power.
Worst would have to be rogue probably. They’re hit and run playstyle just doesn’t work very well in there, plus they have some pretty garbage powers.
I’ve also heard from guildies that priest is pretty bad in there, I personally haven’t tried Priest so I can’t say for sure.
I wouldn’t say we’re the worst but we’re certainly not the best. For soloing it anyway, in a group mages are great. But soloing it as a frost mage can be tough, you really need specific rare powers to solo it comfortably, it’s kinda rough if you don’t get lucky with powers.
Now fire is a different story. Fire can pretty comfortably solo it by just waiting on combust and doing large pulls and blasting it all down in seconds. It’s not the fastest, as you have to wait on cds alot, but it’s much easier to solo as fire in my experience.
LOL wat. I literally solo layer 12 on my alt hunter every week. Super easy as BM, and slightly harder but still doable as MM. Surv I have no idea, never tried it as surv so that might be tough. But 2 of the specs can comfortably solo the place, so I don’t think it’s accurate to say they’re the worst.

You’re always forced into Epic powers as Mage to be meaningful in solo Torghast, which always costs 10 points from your Flawless counter. That’s why they’re “bad”; it’s very easy to solo it as a mage once you get those powers but you’re always compromising. Compare that to something like Corrosive Dosage on Monk, a basic/white power, and you’ll see why mages aren’t the best at Torghast.
They also inherently lack a stun as a class, which you sometimes need, and if you have smart images, they drop their threat and the mob will aggro you instead, so you usually have to pair it with Triune, etc. to ensure your survival.
Arcane is easily the best mage spec to solo Torghast with, but it’s still considerably slower than some other classes/specs.

Best: Shammy / DK (DK is so OP if you get the right stuff.)
I have not tried all of them, but have had the least cool abilities on ,
Worst: Druid, Pally.
The classes are fine but their abilities are just kinda lame at best.

Yeah… compare that to blasting through with Havoc flawless in 10 minutes and tell me your Hunter powers aren’t garbage.
We’re talking about best here, not “can do it”. They should be able to do it, but go play MM in mortregar this week and tell me how long your run takes.

That’s fair I probably should have worded it more clearly. I wasn’t trying to say that hunter is the best though I can see how it could have come across that way. I was simply saying that they’re not the worst. IMO they fall somewhere in the middle of the pack, maybe leaning towards the worst end, but certainly not the actual worst.
I def agree hunter powers for the most part are pretty garbage. And even the ones that perform well are pretty boring, there’s very little game changing or fun powers in there for hunter. That said, even on my alt wearing full pvp gear which doesn’t scale up in there, I can very easily and safely solo the place. I just don’t think a class that can comfortably solo the highest layer, while being under the ilvl recommendation and using garbage powers can be called the worst class for it, even if it is kinda slow and boring.
