Benthic gear is too OP for Mythic Raiding

Well the reason people probably believe it is, is because Blizzard specifically said that was their model for BFA, and constantly have been saying things along the lines of 'If you get an item level upgrade, it should be a full upgrade, not a downgrade or a side grade"

Yeah, which is what makes these Benthic pieces so odd.

I still donā€™t like the idea of nerfing their overall power, because they are a little out, because my benthic gear does not feel overpowered in the overworld. :-\

I suggested before if it was such a big deal for people, to remove the 'And the Eternal Palace" from the equipment bonuses.

But, I really would not like having spent time energy and resources into what Bilzzard told Us was an alternative gearing method, and them just nerf the items into oblivion because Mythic raiders got upset, thatā€™d just feel really bad.

The whole xpac has been odd, gear wise.

We all know how bad it is but its just one broken system after the next.

They really need to simply it. Wish they woulx brkng back tier setsā€¦

Theyā€™ve been saying that ever since they introduced RNG forging, removed specific tank stats, and replaced hit stats with things like multistrike and versatility. Theyā€™ve also literally never been successful with this strategy, because different specs want different things. The closest theyā€™ve ever come is with random massive titanforges, but even then replacing a crit/haste item with a ā€œbetterā€ vers/mast item feels like absolute garbage and I hate it every time it happens.

And somehow thatā€™s still better than the alternative, because if they ever are successful with this venture then there will no longer be any reason whatsoever to be invested in equipping your character.

They realized people were unhappy with AZ gear, and they had an opportunity to actually fix it (by just removing it or refusing to raise neck level caps and letting it become something irrelevant for the rest of the xpac) BUT this is blizzard weā€™re talking about here. No way are they going to just completely abandon an idea, regardless of how bad it is. Theyā€™re too prideful, and the reason they even invented a retarded system like AP in the first place isnā€™t something they can get rid of. That would be counter intuitive to a never ending grind with no plateaus and a perpetual carrot on a stick to pad their /played metrics.

That runs counter to my goals. I want to be able to min-max my gear from all content, Mythic +, WQ, weekly emissaries, Auction house items, PVP, crafted gear.

You want to remove what I want just to fill your needs.

Once again, concentrate on what you enjoy in the game and leave others to enjoy what the like.

Beg to differ. You can get the best ilvl gear possible and then continue to focus on perfecting your stats. While it might not alter performance, the FEEL of playing a haste stacked character versus a vers stacked character would be entirely different IMO, and still worth chasing.

I work to make myself better. If there is no power difference, then Iā€™m not grinding my nose off for the sake of ā€œfeelā€ any more than Iā€™ll grind my nose off for transmogs.

All that does is mandate that anyone who wants to be on your level ALSO has to do all of those activities and effectively becomes a no-lyfe game. Iā€™m not interested in asian MMOs and wow has avoided being it until legion and is slowly edging closer.

At least by separating it all out, you STILL have a reason to go do all that content: because you want to be as powerful as possible in all that content. Stop trying to obligate people to a nolyfe gameplay style where effort > skill instead of the other way around.

Ooh, that reminds me that I need to go stab garrosh in the face again and hope my transmog kilt drops off the dark shamans.

Funny enough the dark shaman kilt actually fits well with Tauren heritage armor.

Do you actually want to grind? I donā€™t I personally only want to do the content I want to do and drop the rest of the game. Gear/progression/etc isnā€™t why I play.

Thereā€™s a certain level of grind Iā€™m okay with. Particularly when itā€™s a ā€œone and doneā€ deal with a clear finish line, like essences. BFA and Legion are, for obvious reasons, vastly in excess of what I consider tolerable, with BFA piling side-chores upon side-chores upon side-chores that will literally never end for the duration of the expansion.

If thatā€™s the case, why did I get the impression youā€™d be upset if gear progression became irrelevant (for at least a little while) for you? My personal favorite time in my favorite expansion was that month or two at the end of every raid tier where I had every piece of gear I could want and could focus solely on parsing, knowing gear was no longer a factor in my performance.

Im of the opinion that if your goal is to be as absolutely optimal as possible, then having to break into other aspects of the game besides raiding is perfectly fine. look at BOTE for example, you wanna be optimal for raid as a melee or certain other classes? hit them BGs. dont feel like doing that to be as optimal as possible? choice is yours. same goes for benthic, you want that 3-5% dps increase? grind the pearls, if you dont, then dont and youll get decent pieces out of raid

Stop trying to remove or nerf gear I receive from game play outside of raid.

Antithesis of my opinion. I shouldnā€™t have to no-lyfe to realize the full potential of what my actual physical skill is capable of achieving.

best gear in the game comes from playing bejeweled LOL

Iā€™m not, Iā€™m trying to remove itā€™s effectiveness from INSIDE the raid since you acquired it OUTSIDE the raid.

Then should raiding gear be nerfed for non-raiding game play?

Leave my gear alone that I want to use in raiding.
