Bel'Ameth?

So yeah… What do we do here again? Feels underwhelming tbh. Big area with nothing to do other than collect the few xmogs.

Edit: Should have posted on my NE main.

At the moment, besides collect the cosmetics around the map, nothing.

Personally hoping for future plans involving the new tree and Gilneas.

Nothing.

It’s just a copy of the Emerald Dream zone that came to the mortal plane for plot reasons so the Night Elves could live there.

All the content is in the OG Emerald Dream zone.

You’ve done everything there is to do.

They billed it as a new capital for the Night Elves and then did literally nothing with it.

I’m assuming since Night Elves are such a huge focus in WoW for… what ever stupid reason… that we’ll get a few story quests which drag the Alliance back there, just so that we can hear dialogue that could have been had anywhere else.

So, expect a few quests every few years.

Perhaps some world quests later with the Gnolls and Nohkud invading. :8ball::robot:

You enjoy the way it looks

Well kind of, at first. But then the patch notes downplayed it, just calling it a settlement. And then we got a cutscene with Tyrande reassuring us that they’re still on Kalimdor, and will eventually resettle teldrassil.

Too bad they already borked the conclusion to us rescuing all those souls by stranding them in the dragons’ backyard… They can now never go home.

To be fair, wisps can move around. I used to send them behind enemy lines all the time :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it will be a progressive area. They literally just established it. I’m guessing it will develop more in 11.0

I guess it depends on the exact details of how they work with this tree. When the souls went into the seed i took it to be like a large scale version of when wisps would become the various Ancients in WC3. And that they therefore became this new world tree. But we have seen wisps zipping around the place. So i guess they do still exist as their own beings. If thats the case, then cool. Pack their little wispy suitcases and send them home!

^^ This.

I’m not sure how that works post-Shadowlands. Like were the wisps actually consumed to make an Ancient? Did they summon them from the Emerald Dream using their “anima”, or did their souls become the trees themselves?

Maybe Amirdrassil can just pick up and walk itself to Kalimdor lol

Right now … nothing. Currently it is worldbuilding so… still quite important and its there if they want to do something with it. After all they have put portals in place so it does function as a hub, meaning that they could in a future patch quite literally just declare that to be the Night Elves’ new city rather than merely their new ‘home’. Which in turn means that they can add more things to the island that would make it function more and more like a city.

The same thing that they can do with Lordaeron, since we still haven’t gone back down into the Undercity but are living where people used to live now. Which brings us to Gilneas as well since… again, all three of them are cases of worldbuilding. So it depends on what if anything is done with them, otherwise they are cool locations to visit, explore, roleplay, or just… relax at.

I would genuinely love that!

It needs to be moved to Kalimdor to become an Alliance capital.

I mean what did you do in Teldrassil? It’s got vendors and trainers, and portals. It’s just a neat place to hang out.

Could it use a few more things? Yeah but I think it’s a work in progress. Got trade chat though.

Bel’ameth is built underneath it though so that would just remove our new city’s shade lol

Imagine just sitting on your front porch watching it walk off like “noo… my property value… :worried:

Welcome to any city that isn’t Orgimmar/Stormwind or the latest expansion city.

I wasn’t exactly clamoring to visit Darnassus any chance I got. I’d imagine Bel’ameth is a neat little spot for roleplayers, it’s got a nice design to it.

That’s interesting. So, I’m curious about your opinion, and this is all assumption. But, do you think their original intentions were to set Bel’Ameth as a new capital and then plans fell through, or was the phrasing just really off in their original posts?
