Being able to hide yourself?

Neat. Mine wasn’t ticked do you have to tick and untick it or something to make it save pubic?

Checking the tick box (or leaving it checked) will make your profile private.

Meh if someone wants to hide their profile then let them do it <3 doesn’t effect me, nor am I out trying to invalidate anyone’s opinion.

Thanks.

You can still manually go to someone’s profile, even if they’ve opted to hide it, for example:

I’ve hidden my profile, but you can still manually go to my armory link and view it. All you have to do is replace the armory realm name and character name in the URL with who you want to look at.

I hid mine for another reason - the presence feature. I don’t want - “Maizou is typing a response…” to show up, or “Maizou is viewing this thread.” Unfortunately, they lumped that in with the public armory link feature.

I wish they’d give us an option to hide our “Activity Log” though. I’d rather not have an easy to access place for people to view my recent posts with a simple click on my profile.

I’m hidden because of creepers. The OP and those like him worry me.

Yeah that’s why I hid mine. I don’t like the feature generally, because it’s needless clutter and information I will never need.

It’s trivial to find my armory page if someone is actually interested, so whatevs.

The interesting thing about this is when the CMs hide their own profiles. No transparency here, no sir.

IIRC - CM’s do not post on accounts tied to their in game characters.

No, but the CM profiles that were open for them are now private. Someone already made a thread a day or so ago saying it would be interesting to see how much they actually do in terms of checking the forums, someone said they would quickly be set to private, lo and behold…

Are you talking about the shadow alts showing on the forums? Under level ten posters still show from before as shadows.

I mean, your post kind of shows why they would mark them as private. Because no matter what someone would have a problem with the time spent checking the forums. Not saying you, but your post brings up the issue. The CMs have more job responsibilities then just the forums. And they also have different shifts and aren’t monitoring 24/7.

The profile information would just be used to attack the CMs and derail threads.

And a few weeks ago I would have agreed with you. Heck, I was a pretty big supporter of blues and defended them quite a bit, but as time went on it got a lot harder…

Then the forums changed, rumors started flying, and all I can see are shady people who I can’t trust anymore. Yeah, sounds kind of dramatic huh? But like I said I was a stout defender for a long time.

Hmmm a 347 frost mage with no raid progress is hiding his profile? I don’t see how it’s creeping. It’s a Game… Not Facebook. There’s nothing private to hide it’s all public information.

Interesting. I haven’t figured out how to myself, but I have no plans to hide anything. At the moment though I’m stuck as an anonymous W, bad timing on a race change :B

You can do that in game. There’s an option in the interface that allows you to either show character only achievements, or all achievements. However, I don’t know if they translate in the Armory page or if it just shows a basic number.

The more you call him out (Or any player for that matter) is the more of the ‘resource’ you’re wasting. Stop. If you feel like a player doesn’t met these “credentials” you have imposed on everyone, then disregard, ignore, and move on to only address those you feel like have a horse riding in the race.

Still, this gives them the ammo to keep posting. You’re still apart of the problem you’re complaining about. It’s not gong to make players stop posting or suddenly decide to use the forums by your rule set.

You’ve wasted more time, energy, and resource into begrudging a rule set you’ve set that maybe a hand full of players actually agree with.

I’m not saying that they’re wrong, but what I’m saying is-- stick to them and only engage those you feel like meet those requirements. This will facilitate the core discussion a lot further than wasting time with call outs. :rainbow:

Now you see me, now you…

Agreed. I always cringe whenever I see someone attack another person based on their armory record. All that ever does it promote and encourage elitism and toxicity.

At the moment I dont have it set to character only and it isnt showing all my achievements.

But like the progression page of the raid section of your armory, it would be nice if it codsolidated the progress between characters to one page.

Hmm… Then it appears it automatically only gives that particular characters’ progress.

It would be nice if they did do that. I could have sworn they used to be that way? :rainbow:
