Of course by day 7 it had dropped down to #4 again. And the community seems to have turned on the streamers. And layering is absolutely the worst decision in the history of the world since eugenics.

Let’s wait to see if Classic survives the beta phase before we start celebrating. It’s entirely possible the community will turn on it as they already have started to do.

I’m sure the creators/fans of Apex thought the same way when it was the top viewed game on twitch…before it dropped down like literally every game that’s not LoL/Fortnite does once the initial hype dies off.

And posters wonder why no one takes them seriously.

Since eugenics, that made me laugh. We could use some perspective as passionate gaming fans I guess

I, for one, am excited to see the keen interest people have in Classic WoW. Yes it might not be long lasting, but hey in this moment it made a comeback and it has the potential to be great again. It’s undeniable the game is attracting a legitimate audience.

A lot of people keep trying to bring their negativity to the Classic discussions. It’s actually becoming tiresome. I think they need their own megathreads, that way they can all talk in circles and get nowhere together. I’m sure it will be barrels of fun.

Big yikes.

This is just from the last 24 hours or so.

While I respect your right to have an opinion, I would ask that you don’t use my post to enforce it since I disagree and my post doesn’t add any strength to your argument. Especially considering that I was not arguing against layering. My argument was a response to another poster’s suggested solution to some downsides of layering. I agree that temporary layering is the correct response to the anticipated issues immediately following launch.

Is it really that popular outside the vanilla player base? Also, the boost to twitch was probably helped by the fact that blizzard gave them all of the information we wanted so we had to go through them to get it.

I’m excited for classic, but I just don’t see it being a huge success with modern gamers.

My apologies. I’ll leave the echo chamber to its business.

Being dramatic completely strips any legitimacy your argument might have. By all means, form a constructive reasoning for your opinion. Just make sure you understand the context of the posts you want to link, and they actually factually back up your opinion.

Just as an aside: you come off as pretty jaded, friend. I remember reading some of your posts in GD awhile back and I don’t recall the underlying tone of bitterness. The forums (especially GD) can have this effect - I noticed it in myself a couple months ago. Maybe take a break, it’ll do wonders. I just came back from a break myself.

It’s not even out yet.

Part of the problem of every MMO post WoW, was the, “is this the game that’ll be the WoW killer”.

That line of thinking is inherently flawed as it causes you to focus on one thing. Those MMOs simply became poorly executed clones of a game that already had a loyal fan base established.

Classic (and its community) just need to enjoy the content. These servers will already be more populated than the original WoW ever was. Treat it like a trip to Disney World. There is a lot to see and experience, but you don’t need to critique how the costumes were designed of if the ride was accurately portraying the movie correctly.

Will it be exactly like the original? No, and it’s foolish to think it would be. Computers are better, picture is of better quality, peripherals are more sophisticated, internet connection is faster, and information is more readily available.

People played private servers for years and that was with just guessing at what the game was like since those teams didn’t have access to anything server side.

In the short time I’ve experienced the game I can say that it did what I hoped it would, in that it gave me a reason to interact with those around me and encouraged me to explore more of what was out there. Rather than just follow a rigid path and grind my way to the next goal.

Jeez, what a ridiculous title.

That means absolutely nothing.

Look, we’re all excited for classic and all, but this is just silly.

I’m quitting my main MMO (SWTOR) for WoW Classic.

Still a good game, but pretty dead in comparison. At least I will have people to play with in Classic. There is arguably just as much to like about Classic, especially since Classic will do things most other MMOs do not; no achievements, no level cap raise, no new tiers of gear, your own story, play your own way, and nice people to play with.

For all I care, WoW clones can go ahead and copy off of Retail WoW instead of doing their own thing.

Classic will ensure the King retains his throne.

This comment says a lot about you. And not good stuff.

to beat games like league of legends and fortnite in insane and it means a whole lot

Where’s Ziryus?!? We need him to free us from this echo chamber!!!

Why do people link streamers (as if the community gives a s*** about their opinion)? Formulate your own opinion and post it (end rant).
