People can play both.
Or like me, they alternate between MMOs.
You’re not forced into one exclusively.

Same with me, but with Skyrim Legendary Edition for just $20.
I hear final fantasy 14 is 13 a month.
It is for the sub that allows you 1 character per realm/8 characters in total.
But given the whole ‘one character can play every and any class’ aspect, you don’t really need a bazillion characters/alts.
It’s all you really need, if you can do all jobs on one character.
Well, thats objectively wrong. It’s something like $550 every 2 years to play.
I have tons of games I’ve played for 2 years that I’ve spent under 50 bucks on.
Heck yea, WoW’s a great deal, everyone knows that. Doesnt make it void of criticism and they even open up these forums for it. Nerf Dh’s.
LOL why do people always say “the cash shop”
Because it is a shop. It sells in-game items. For cash.
I didn’t say it was mandatory, although Blizzard seems to really, really love token sales.
I actually feel like Ion trolls here on the forums. I’ve been thinking this for a month now.
Oh I agree 100% cause so many here are such pros at singing the praises of him daily.
Maybe years ago it did. Game is hardly worth playing that long now
Another reason on top of the many I’m out of here Feb.25th
50$ purchase plus 18$ per month is actually outrageously expensive.
Open steam or PS+ etc and look around. Literally dozens of entire games for like 10$
Just before xmas I picked up witcher 1,2,3 and wild hunt expansion for under 20$.
Hundreds of hours of game time for a single months sub fee.
I think WoW is still considered very cheap. This is why they look at alternate monetization scheme since the player base will probably never grow: purchase expansion, token, cash shop and probably more to come:
100s of hours of chores, best $15 ever!
FFXIV. (Oh and the entrance sub fee is $12 there. WoW recently boosted their base sub to like $22. Because apparently screw Canadians too.)
/thread.
Apparently they don’t teach what exchange rates are in Canadian schools. lol
I have over 700 hours invested in a $30 game of Civilizations. Do you know how much 700 hours of WoW cost me? Close to $300.
Hundreds of hours…filthy casual.
