You cant buy another AAA game at $15 bucks and get even 40 hours of entertainment, let alone hundreds of hours. It’s almost like we are stealing from Blizzard with how inexpensive the entertainment they provide us.
Nice classic alt post Ion!

FFXIV. (Oh and the entrance sub fee is $12 there. WoW recently boosted their base sub to like $22. Because apparently screw Canadians too.)
/thread.
Objectively FFXIV is a fantastic game too. Its not WoW, but its clear it had no intention of being and that makes it great.
I don’t think the sub price changed, just the game time cards.
Nope it’s $22 CAD here which is above even currency exchange rates.
$15 usd to cad just now in google gave me $19.

i dont mind the money…I mind the pointless irritation.
I mean
it might not be AAA
But Terraria costs 5 bucks and has given me more entertainment - both baseline and with mods - than wow has.
I just checked my account. Recurring subscription prices haven’t changed. It’s still $18.99/month CAD
Weird, I’m not sure what went wrong here then o_O or what is different.
I will need to dpouble check this, I had signed up a 6 month sub for fairy wings just before this change so I didn’t see it on my account yet.
I believe it was buying for gametime the cost went up. So I assume that was having to do with blizz balance or using tokens?
my sub is 6,8$, thanks to regional prices. And if you’re playing hundreds of hours per month just WoW then you probably should relax a bit, i doubt most of them are “fun”
The game itself costs around $50.
Monthly cost is added on to that.
And then we have the cash shop.
If it is fun then the cost is pretty good. If it isn’t…?
I mean, even if you’re looking at exclusively “AAA” games, both Monster Hunter World and Skyrim go on sale regularly enough through Steam and can easily qualify for the “hundreds of hours” metric.
Looks at Bobby Kotick’s wealth
No we are not stealing anything at all
Never really agreed with the dollar per hour arguments people make when it comes to entertainment. It comes across as superficial. It’s a nice way to mitigate and temper human emotion, but it’s completely removed from reality.
It’s always the trouble when you start thinking of things in terms of dollars or other forms currencies. It removes the raw reality of what you’re talking about.
Do junkies get pleasure/entertainment with their daily fix, or is it just a temporary surcease from the pain of withdrawal?
You’re not factoring in the 30 tokens I must buy for m+ carries.
I jump, glide and stomp my way around Revendreth like it’s a Castlevania game…
Money
Well
Spent
It’s not fun though. It’s like little mini games. You have the anima grind mini game for casuals, the command table mini game. Only thing is raiding which I found fun and the loot drops got nerfed into oblivion along with my spec (frost mage). I officially had a dream last night where I was doing an intro to Final Fantasy and told someone I was a wow refugee. I’m sorry wow but it’s over. At last in final fantasy you can just change your class if they nerf your current one, wow seems to be going in the opposite direction of tying specs even to hard to change sinks like covenants.
