Well you can disagree because you like it that way, but that doesn’t change the fact that gated content phases does cause the game to die when it’s over.
Many people here have posted that they don’t want phases or nerfs on the earlier TBC content if we get a TBC era server.
If you like phases you can just pretend the higher level content doesn’t exist until you are ready to experience it. I don’t see the difference, except the game won’t die because there’s no real end.
Also, no one is talking about skipping anything. Good luck leveling to 70 and then going straight to Black Temple. The content gates itself by requiring you to get geared for each tier of content. Heroics/Karazhan/Gruul/Mag > SC/TK/ BT/Hyjal/ZA > Sunwell. There’s also attunements, which should never be dropped.
You do not need phases… this is the path of least resistance to end game anyway. You should be able to skip ahead where you can if you want, but you’d just be making things more difficult for yourself.
I do not see it that way and I disagree with your claim that its a “fact” that the game dies due to gated content.
I feel it’s a fact the game dies when content is available in its entirety from day 1.
Many people have posted they want progression servers that constantly reset and go through the phases again.
That’s not how an MMO works. If other players have access to the content you MUST participate in that content or you are at a major disadvantage.
The game ends as soon as the hardest content is cleared.
I used examples from Vanilla, not BC. I never stated about jumping straight to BT.
You would skip normal dungeons and go immediately to heroic dungeons as quickly as possible then jump to SC, TK & Hyjal, right into BT then Sunwell. 2 months all content cleared and game is dead.
Honestly, it sounds like you want BC Era and perhaps a Wrath era. I actually have no problem with that. I think that should be available for players like yourself.
We would each get the version we desire. I think it’s a great middle ground.
On top of that, a world first guild could probably kill KT in half the time. It would just be a flash in the pan. Unphased Classic is a joke of an idea.
It’s like, “Hey, we want people to sub for Classic, but we want them to speed run through it so fast that they only have their sub active for 3 months tops”
If they had staggered Classic expansion servers, I would be actively playing both Vanilla and TBC content just like I did when SOM was out.
You could literally just do one server each and be A-Okay. PVE always got shafted on private servers with low population, that’s just the state of the game, sucks to suck.
