TBH I don’t even know why they do seasonal servers for an mmo. Most of my friends stopped playing because they know their toons will be temporary. Also nobody really wanted Cata so that’s pretty much as dead as SoD is. Cata has the population of the dying seasonal realm they had to consolidate lol. Should have just restarted at vanilla and do a 4 year cycle of Vanilla->TBC->Wrath.

I might be wrong about this but…
- not telling us drives up hype
- telling us would piss off groups of people.
- not telling us would not impact them in the slightest.
Where option 3 tends to be the reason why companies do not give out information.
Reasons why someone might be upset for information given: Players who think classic gets too much funding when retail could use it / Players who were expecting something different to be released are now upsetty spaghetti / crazy forum rants being made about x, y, and Z.
Again - I could be wrong - I remember someone saying something like this to me in the past and it kind of makes sense. Even though I too would love even a tiny bit of information

Yup. Definitely wrong.
I for one am not playing if they do not confirm BC and Wrath at the very least. I will get my WoW fix elsewhere.
I am not playing for 1 1/2 years, putting quite literally 4000+ hours into the game to find out my character goes to era. Won’t even start.

You talk about seasonal, but wouldn’t a fresh server essentially be seasonal, because this request is only going to happen, again and again, each time the servers stagnates because of the minimal amount of content being offered? 
Some differences for you to think about.
A season is like 1year roughly ? no idea whats in it - if people will stay (important for guilds)
Fresh, AS LONG AS IT GOES TO BC AND WRATH, has more than triple the life of what you are calling “essentially seasonal.” Everyone knows what is going to happen, tonnes of things to look forward too. People returning for each phase.
So don’t really see it as the same, personally.

That really just screams seasonal to me, vanilla as a whole has enough content for a month, with a week or so of content each phase that’ll lead into raid logging, it’s all been done thousands of times, so it’s clearly not going to take long to complete it all and gear… what happens once again when the servers stagnate, gonna push for another “fresh” attempt? Nothing wrong with wanting “season vanilla servers” but to complain about seasonal and then push for something that is essential the same thing, is odd to me.
obviously you are using seasonal in a way that you understand but I don’t think its even remotely similar.

Ok so by your logic, EVERY multiplayer game on the planet is “seasonal” because they will all shut down one day.

We spent over a decade demanding a way to play Vanilla WoW, BC & Wrath again. We will always demand this if Blizzard doesn’t give us the ability to enjoy the experience AS IT WAS DESIGNED(fresh required every few years).
It’s time. Give us what we want or we seek other options for our fix, that’s all.

Im with you there, I am not interested unless it goes to BC also. Its not like they WONT tell us, they just wont tell us until its beneficial to them, as frustrating as that is.
I want to find a guild to join so I can be there through all of them, and looking early sounds fun.

Be nice if they did a fresh starting from vanilla going all the way up through Wrath. if not that make a fresh vanilla and add burning crusade and wrath era servers.

All I said is this comes off as a seasonal request, because it’s just going happen again every single time the servers becomes stagnate and that won’t take long. It’s not a bad thing to want seasonal servers. I also couldn’t care less what Everquest does, it’s a bad game on it’s best days.
ok the seasonal argument is side tracking now.
What I understood the OP meant was: Blizzard please tell us if you make a new server if its going to go to TBC and Wrath.
People want to make a better choice about what they sink their time into.
Also would love a fresh classic

It’s the same as people who were hyped for Duke Nukem Forever right up until its release, or those who are still clamouring for Half Life 3.
There comes a point where something just shouldn’t happen. It will turn out sub-par and not meet expectations. Classic+ especially since it only ever existed in the deluded imaginations of people - none of whom can even agree on a definition for it.

I’m actually currently playing classic WoW exclusively having been burned out by retail. And I’ve always been critical of “you think you do, but you don’t,” so I accept your apology any time now. Everyone makes mistakes, so I forgive you.
Doesn’t mean that “classic+ when?” people are way misguided. If it happens, it will be more SoD-style nonsense. Just like how if Half-Life 3 happens at this point, it will be plagued by modern AAA flaws. Just like how if Sonic Adventure 3 happens… it’s difficult to express in words what would likely go wrong.
Classic era is good. BC and WotLK would be better.
SoD is meh.
Classic era fresh servers? I won’t roll on one, but absolutely go for it if they have an audience.
Classic+ is tempting fate given ActiBlizz’s trajectory these past 10 years.
