I have multiple WOW accounts on my BattleNet account. With the upcoming launch of Classic I wanted to activate a dormant account so that my son and I can play together. I have installed BattleNet App and WoW on another comp but the problem I have is that the Battle Net App does not stay connected (online) if I open it on my computer.
Whats the proper procedure that I must do to be able to log into my WoW account on my comp and for my son to log into the second WoW account on his laptop?
You can be ingame without the Battle.net app being connected. That’s the only real trick to have multiple licenses online at the same time - on the same Blizzard account.
If your son is the primary player on that license, you may want to look into having Billing move that to another Blizzard account (in YOUR name if he is a minor). That separates things and is a bit safer and easier to make changes later when they are of age.
it keeps your account more secure, and also short-cuts potential issues with messaging going to the wrong license if both are logged in, it also can let you enable parental controls.
All that said, if you do have a license moved, you need to be aware shared collections will NOT go with the license. Pets, mounts, heirlooms, etc.
Thanks for the quick reply. Most likely I will just move that WoW license to a new BNet account. Since we are only going to play classic together the shared collection won’t even apply. Thanks again
The launcher has an option to shut itself down after starting a game. If both you and your son use that option, you don’t have to check with each other to see if the launcher is already running on another computer before trying to play.
