Battleground Scouting

Just wondering what everyone’s opinion is on the “scouting” tactic done for BGs. For those who don’t know the group will queue and then when the queue pops one person will come in and check to see if it’s a premade or a pug. If it’s a premade that person will usually leave and nobody else will come in whereas if it’s a pug the premade will come in to stomp them for free honor.

Thoughts on this?

My thought is just you just spread awareness and now more will do it.

It’s a valid tactic for all the serious rankers. We will have a few sacrificial lambs to scout. Now when we find that sweet Asmongold pre made. We are going to wipe the floor with him.

Best teams do it for bestest honor. Pugs will have to get used to the bend over.

It’s already been discussed multiple times and I’d rather discuss this than faction imbalance.

Only a matter of time before wahhwPvP threads turn into threads with that same queue dodging video.

It’s already happening :shushing_face::shushing_face::shushing_face:

Not what you think it is. The MASSIVE populations mean lots and lots of battleground pops and lots and lots of premades.

The meta you were talking about formed on Vanilla and Private servers that would be considered very low to medium at best when compared to Classic Servers.

imagine being such a TRASH premade you take 15 min deserters every time you come up against another premade lmaoooo… yall gonna be strugglin for bracket 5, gl

The argument the meta used for this was that it was quicker to have a scout eat a 15 minute timer to dodge a premade if it meant stomping a pug. Stomping multiple pugs takes longer than a premade vs premade fight.

The people using this meta have no idea how many premades are going to exist in this overpopulated Phase 3 Classic meta though. There’s a point where multiple dodges in a row will fail and result in honor per hour loss.

Why are so many people scared of a fair fight?
It’s like everyone thinks they’re so tough because they steamroll pugs or kill one or two people with a full group. You don’t want to face the possibility of losing, so you use every dirty tactic you can think of.
I’d hate to see what happens to you in real life if you ever got real power.

Honor farmers aren’t looking for fair fights. They want the fastest honor per hour they can get.

Crazy to think that people that are farming use the most efficient method.

It’s cowardly, and should be seen as an exploit.

It is sorta amusing when you think of the dialog we have seen lately on these forums, when you consider the reason people do this.

In regards to WPvP complaints:

“WPvP is out of control, we are constantly getting stomp, I wish there was a way we could control this”

“Git Gud, you rolled PvP, deal with it.”

In regards to BG Scouting:

“You chose to do a BG, why wouldn’t you just take the match?”

“Lawlz, we want to control how we PvP”

The reality, if you getting stomped, it isn’t fair. If you can control stomping others, it’s totally legit.

I’d almost equal it to win trading. Getting a pug or a premade should be a dice roll.

Is it cowardly to scout for Jed, or to kill Rend and then reset?

Is it an exploit to farm Mara, or Tribute?

Agreed. I’m sure there is something that could be done to take this option away.

Slightly different since you aren’t manipulating the experience for other players.

It’s almost like WPvP and BGs are two different things! :open_mouth:

Deserter debuff increased to 30 minutes would work, if it keeps happening, 45 minutes.

My plan is Play BG. Lose BG? Bummer. Win BG? Happy.

Simple

While different, it is still manipulating the results, which should be seen as exploiting game mechanics.
