In my experience this is actually false. I see plenty of non-twinks that enjoy the 29 bracket for example, who spent a little bit of time to just get decent gear and are rank 3 which is the highest rank you can get at 29. They enjoy the bracket and the community, even though they don’t have the funding to make a twink themselves. These people enjoy the games we get, at the frequency currently available.
Splitting the queues affects these players too and might cause them to get bored and move on, further exacerbating the issue. Not to mention this split queue is happening at the release of a new BG, which is already going to split queues, and this BG requires even more players to fill a game. None of it adds up.
As for your ridiculous accusation, its not about stomping non-twinks. We want good games with solid competition. You clearly have your own negative feelings associated with twinks and its obviously blinding you and creating a great deal of bias. Its not hard to see how senseless this proposed change is. If you are going to continue spitting vitriol because of your personal hatred with twinks, spare us because its not a worthwhile contribution.
Am I missing something here? Like is there seriously only ever 1 wsg going at a time in twink brackets? Cause the way my feeble mind sees it is that the players will be split but the faction imbalance overall will remain about the same percentage. So I figure ques might get slightly longer but not to an extreme degree except during times of day that are already near dead. The rest of the time there are enough games going that ques will be mostly the same right? Just with less variety of names on the teams? But again, maybe I’m just dumb since I only pvp for raid gear upgrades 0.0.
OH and the twink arguement is as old as WoW and yall always claim that you want to face other twinks not steamroll but anyone who has ever twinked a toon knows deep down that all you really want is to see that double overkill over some newbs face. Lie and deny it all ya want, thats what twinking has ALWAYS been about. The unfair advantage that max lvl enchants on a low lvl toon offers. Though I will admit that the 49 bracket is much more balanced than the 39 and 39 more than 29 and 29 more than 19. The lower lvl you go the more twinks tend to steamroll.
Yep, you’re missing something. Last weekend there were 4-5 WSG matches going in prime time in the 39s. Split them, you now have 1 less WSG, 2 in each battlegroup. Now you have 20 people to split across AB and WSG, which means you have 1 BG running in each battlegroup for a total of 2, instead of the 4-5 there used to be.
Not to mention that from around 1am EST there’s usually only 1 going, so forget that now.
Ok well that does sound unfortunate. I guess the classic low lvl pvp player base is much smaller than I remember it being back in the day. I recall only waiting like 3-5 minutes for a game on my old 19 twink rogue back then and that was when bg’s were server specific.
What an incredibly idiotic “solution” to a non-issue. Don’t split players up into battlegroups. As many others have stated, you’re going to severely impact the sub-60 bracket queue times.
Honestly, who comes up with these lame brained ideas at your company? The lack of thought put into this is embarrassing.
This will spark a lot of threads over the next few weeks, some will quit, and maybe you revert the change. Instead of going through all that nonsense, reconsider this and don’t proceed with this goofy implementation.
Though theres also the fact that most ppl playing classic have lives and the bg holidays will bring way more people out on weekends. So if the low bracket twink pvpers just have a real life during the week for once and pvp on weekends wouldnt the fun still be there and in larger supply? Personally, as a 34 year old with 3 kids, I would love if my game time was more limited forcibly by game mechanics. I dont really even care about pvp now that I’m AV exalted but even raiding often takes up more time than I really want to commit to a game anymore.
Like for instance, if they removed every consumable buff from the game so that I didnt feel obligated to spend hours and hours farming just to make my healers jobs easier in raids XD that would sure be nice imho (humble not honest, though fairly honest too tbh)
I main a healer, oh wise one. Explain how I’m going to get big mega double kills as a healer when I spend the entirety of the bg dispelling and healing. Explain anyone who rolls a healer in these brackets. We like to pvp and play our desired roles for the purpose of winning the BG.
If you legitimately think that a majority of twinks are doing it to kill levelers you haven’t played a twink in your life, because you would know GY farmers in particular are despised in twinking communities. GY farming discourages people from requeuing and thus slows down games and makes everyone’s time miserable. In fact its usually the levelers that pipe up about wanting to gy farm in any skewed games, while the twinks are ending the game asap for maximizing rep gain.
Causing queues to die an extra two hours early hurts all brackets and causes the interest to decline. The fact of the matter is there is 0 reason to split the queues now, so why do it? There hasn’t been a good reason explained. Yet there is a very obvious issue which has been repeated which people keep dismissing because they personally don’t like twinks, as if its a valid argument.
*Let me be on record as saying, Blizz, this is a terrible idea.
Battlegroups do NOT get rid of xrealm. It’s just grouping people by region (not realm) and means fewer people in queue at the same time, thus longer queues for everyone, every bracket.
They are “fixing” something that wasn’t broken. Again.
Just set all holiday times to Blizz time, like the reset is and stop messing with stuff. How is it possible for people to work on this game who have clearly never played it and frankly don’t even know much about how it is played? SMH
I love all the twink hate. But the sad fact is twink brackets are the most competitive.
60 pvp is so sad that one of the top na premades is making twinks. At 60 teams will try at most for 1 cap then roll over and quit if they are behind because omg my honor per hour. (Full premades do this) I’m not even going to talk about the state of 60 pugs.
Whereas in twink brackets everyone tries. They might not try for the same goal. Some try to hk farm. Some try to win. Granted there are some bad apples sometimes, it’s definitely not the norm. Even pug games are fun.
I’d really hate to see these communities cut in half and slowly die out due to lack of games being played because of longer queues.
I personally don’t have anytime against twinks. I only really care of 60’s bgs and getting rid of xrealm bgs is a great thing. For me at least, I don’t mind a 10/15 min queue if we can get rid of the dead weight. So, looking forward to this…
Please explain where I insisted on controlling others. I said this change was good, a twink jumped down my back for it, I said the game has never been balanced around twinks nor should it be (with the added opinion that twinks are bad for the game, which I later explained the reasoning on).
Please, do go on though. Enlighten me on how I insisted on controlling others for saying this was a good change lol. I’m excited to hear this one.
