Hello battleground blitzers.
I have created a spreadsheet that uses data from checkpvp to track the distribution of rank/cr in this new gamemode.

Disagree with the data? Great! It is always good to debate and fact check. Go prove me otherwise! However, If your post does not contain calculations I will just ignore it. That being said, this data was collected just after the first weekly reset and will likely change when you view the source data from checkpvp. As to what sample of players blizzard will include in to form the r1 cutoffs? I am not sure. This could be players for cr>0, cr>1k who knows? I would love some clarification.
Assumptions:
I am using using the base number of players (at the time of writing) to form the population. This is the total number of players with cr >0. This number is 38932 (remember to set slider to 0-max on checkpvp).
Please keep in mind R1 may differ between specs and is certainly not 2480 for all specs.
Data:
| Inverse Percentile | Rank | Rating |
|---|---|---|
| 0.1 | 38.932 | 2480 |
| 1 | 389.32 | 2010 |
| 5 | 1946.6 | 1693 |
| 10 | 3893.2 | 1613 |
| 20 | 7786.4 | 1511 |
| 30 | 11679.6 | 1283 |
| 40 | 15572.8 | 951 |
| 50 | 19466 | 576 |
| 60 | 23359.2 | 384 |
| 70 | 27252.4 | 384 |
| 80 | 31145.6 | 192 |
| 90 | 35038.8 | 192 |
| 100 | 38932 | 167 |
Comments:
Suprised? I was too! There are a lot of people who play this game and this game mode. In SL season 1196 players got the hero title (even more if you include cutoffs from both factions). This was the top 0.5% of the population at the time. Given this, we can say that there were 239200 players included in the calculation. A lot of people played that season.
