#BattleforFullscreen

Lets get a blue response please.

What kills me is this has been going on for 2 weeks now and it's been complete radio silence from a CM or a Dev on this issue. same with them changing the default UI.

This is the part i find very frustrating. The first day or 2 i understood since there were a lot of other problems and things going on but a lot of time has passed and we still haven't heard a peep besides that one thread on the EU forums. And that got shut down when there was finally someone trying to help us out...

is this a US, EU, or all over issue? just curious because i've never played in windowed mode, and i feel like i should have noticed if my game was forced into windowed from fullscreen lol but i am so used to playing on a potato that i may not have even noticed a drop in performance on my new computer.

and no i'm not saying "well i don't have a problem, so why should you complain that you do?!"...i would just like to get more information about this movement :-)

I can confirm multiple threads since early July discussing this very issue on both the US and EU forums. There is a post from a Brazilian player claiming a similar situation on their forums and is going to attempt to spread #BattleforFullscreen to the Brazil forums.

The intent of #BattleforFullscreen is to focus the player base affected by the fullscreen change. Maximizing exposure of the term #BattleforFullscreen should increase the visibility of this issue to Blizzard community staff, and hopefully start an internal discussion on whether or not they'll address the issue.

If by the time this thread caps, and there's no blue response; I'll create another thread along with taking it to Twitter.

If no response after that step, that to me would be Blizz's answer. They're either not seeing it as a high enough priority, or simply choose/can not address the issue. In either case, I'll be perusing a refund from my BFA pre-purchase (/face-palm).

That said, it's difficult to quantify how deep of an impact this issue is having on the players. Tresska's thread from before the pre-patch going live was much more active compared to this thread.

There's still fragmented fullscreen issue posts between tech sipport/general - aggregating all of them together could possibly cap one thread. This separation of threads on the same issue is going to reduce visibility to Blizzard.

My perception is, this is going to be a bit of an uphill battle. But my skirt is hiked, sword is sharp, warpaint is on (adorable kitty whiskers if you must know) and im ready for a battle!

I'd really like my Fullscreen option back. Specially when I don't buy this "incompatibility" excuse they have given.

But hell someone asked them about Dr Pibb vs Dr Pepper and that got answered.

Oh no no no, it's been going on for much longer than two weeks. The BfA beta forum had multiple capped threads complaining about this crap. And like usual now, all the feedback was ignored and nothing was addressed. That's the scary part, they've been hearing about it for months now, and still refused to change their minds.
I am all about moving forward with new tech when it makes sense and is the obvious better option.

In this case neither apply. This is not a upgrade in any sense of the word. This is a backwards step for no good reason at all.

There is no benefit to this change besides "preparing for the future". Well what if dx12 sucks and the future sucks? What then? Move forward anyways? Why logically would we?

This on so many levels does not make sense. Change ASAP

This was 100% a *cough* "labor-saving move" *cough*

EFS is completely doable in DX12, if they took the time to implement it. It's supported by the DXGI functionality. But those are the key words, took the time.

This was another example of them wanting to take the easy route out, and they fed us a line of crap as an excuse.
I now can't record video since this change... Thanks Blizz.
Remember when everybody on that thread was joking about how the change couldn't possibly be intentional and must be a bug because even blizzard wouldn't do something so stupid?
Granted my laptop is a little older but before I was able to set the game to 1080 on my 4k monitor and it looked great now I have to go 4k and scale the graphics so low the game looks like crap and still suffer a fps loss.
Please bring back fullscreens for dx11 at least.
Got no problems with fullscreen on both my new Coffeelake system, and my old as bricks Haswell system. One is AMD, one is nVidia in terms of GPU.
Game runs like turds since the patch.. Is this going to be fixed anytime soon?

It's strange that so many people weren't having issues with true fullscreen, such as myself, but now have stuttering/choppiness and FPS issues with this forced fake fullscreen.

I guess Blizzard is up one as they already have my payment for the next expansion and all I can really do now is cancel my sub as this game is too frustrating to play with these issues.
I think that they think if they ignore us we will go away.

Pepperidge Farm remembers.
It's as if they want you to be aware you're playing a 14 year old game.

**With the choppiness and whatnot.
Window7 + DX11 = Fullscreen!

Old computers for the Win!

Not strange in the slightest. EFS is a different beast than WFS, and operates differently behind the scenes.

No, that would be Windowed Fullscreen. Not true exclusive mode Fullscreen. That's the asinine thing about this. They removed EFS from DX11 and then BS'd it by saying it was because they added DX12 support, and that DX12 doesn't do EFS.

<- Windows 7 + DX11, still no EFS.

All we can do is hope. Like I said before i'd rather know its going to be fixed even if its a while off. I would feel a lot better knowing that than us knowing nothing at all. The best thing we can do right now is keep posting here and making threads about it as well as using the #BattleforFullscreen on Twitter and other social media platforms.

I dont know what to say, it is the same fullscreen since i started playing in 2009...
I'm shocked we didn't even see a blue response yet.

Even tho it's already a popular issue on the Tech forums and everywhere even Reddit.

Well you need to upgrade to Win10.. Because Win7 is almost outdated and no one will support it within 3 or 4years if not already.
