This.
The silence.
It's what ticks people off. Because we don't know what to think and every day that passes without any recognition starts to make you think that they really don't give a hoot about our concerns. And it is a valid concern.
So what starts off as confusion, soon leads to irritation and thereafter to full blown anger.
So I really don't know what bright guy at Blizzard thinks that ignoring the problem is going to solve it.
Nothing is ever solved by ignoring it. Simple common sense.
But hey, i'm playing the long game on this one. Not only twitter but also on YT.

Just means they wont be pushing updates. The OS will continue to run just fine more many years to come. DX11 is going nowhere anytime soon either, at the very least they have to push updates for that till the end of the W8.1 life cycle.07/27/2018 07:22 PMPosted by KolkolWell you need to upgrade to Win10.. Because Win7 is almost outdated and no one will support it within 3 or 4years if not already.
Windowed fullscreen is not the same as fullscreen. They are fundamentally different. WIndowed fullscreen has always been an option but so was fullscreen which has both been removed and remains industry standard in gaming.07/27/2018 07:20 PMPosted by Ukhu07/27/2018 07:10 PMPosted by Hunteryx
No, that would be Windowed Fullscreen. Not true exclusive mode Fullscreen. That's the asinine thing about this. They removed EFS from DX11 and then BS'd it by saying it was because they added DX12 support, and that DX12 doesn't do EFS.
<- Windows 7 + DX11, still no EFS.
I dont know what to say, it is the same fullscreen since i started playing in 2009...
Oh yeah, I remember07/27/2018 06:32 PMPosted by DrogoreRemember when everybody on that thread was joking about how the change couldn't possibly be intentional and must be a bug because even blizzard wouldn't do something so stupid?

And its not something like a class changes, reputation, currency, etc. This messes with peoples performances and makes the game very uncomfortable to play for a lot of people. For some its completely unplayable. I can handle class changes but this is a completely different subject.
You guys seriously dont know how to change it to full screen? If you have an Nvidia graphics card or any other card made in the last 5 years, you can change the setting to full screen with the software that installs with the gpu.
Been playing on full screen since the day they tried to default the game to windowed.

I mean cool digging the drop to 45-60 FPS but would prefer to be back over 100 where i was pre-patch

First, Please read this
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20765497266
Now there are some points I want to make about removing fullscreen.
1)Personally I went from 60+fps with mid settings +/- to 20fps, and lag spikes on patch day. Now the interesting part is that on my desktop, even now i cant get a stable 30-40fps, and yet my laptop is capable after a great deal of work(same on desktop) of 50 +/- fps.
my specs
Laptop HP
I5-7200 CPU
8 GB ram
Intel HD 620 GPU
Runs at 50 FPS
Desktop HP
AMD A8-7600 CPU
8 GB ram
Radeon R7
Runs...haha at 30 if im luck in the middle of know where generally very very lag/spike.
2) as an interest, I did some research(EE, and grad in Physics) and found that my AMD from a pure non-OS base out performed my Intel system. I wrote/posted those stats, and % with the data I had gathered, yet Blizz monitor's what they post, and didnt like my numbers.
3)I'm curious if Blizz researched their demographic, and the systems they used, as well as the settings? I bring this up because While living in Western, and Eastern EU, I found that most people use AMD for gaming, and generally, especially about half of EU, the computers used older parts, picked up at local shops. Now, my "Bestbuy" Desktop AMD purchased 2 years ago cant play, yet before it ran fine. I'm curious, like everyone else why you took the options away that allowed our computer resources to focus on Wow? I was/am a hardware design engineer, I coded my own API's, DLL's, etc. and I KNOW, it's possible to code the options we need, yet I have a feeling you'll be losing a noticeable % of us, im still debating.
4) lastly, Im a disabled Vet, with traumatic brain injury, over all im doing brilliant, other than some memory issues and probably the most important to this game, a Seizure disorder.
If i can get smooth video, I can seize, if I stare at fuzzy video..I can seize.....you would be surprised the number of people low video, at bad fps can cause to feel or be sick.....research it.
Cheers Blue

Currently playing EverQuest over the last few days because WoW is no longer available to me. Well, it kind of is, but at 10-20 FPS it is not nearly any fun.

Yeah, at least this all has a bright side. The annoying micro stuttering from WoW has caused me to try games I probably wouldn't have otherwise. ESO, No Man's Sky (Yeah, I know..) It's kind of refreshing, actually.
I'll have to slog through it when BfA launches, to get ready for Uldir, but hopefully the game will be fixed by then..

I agree im dealing with it right now but omg do i just want my full screen back lol micro stuttering is so annoying and hard to ignore forever.
#BattleForFullscreen!
Thats probably what I am dealing with, or very close to it. I told the tech support forums that in Dx12 I only cant use SLI, its smooth but its lower FPS. I can use Dx11 and its higher FPS because I can use SLI cards but looks really choppy.07/28/2018 01:46 AMPosted by JanxxI agree im dealing with it right now but omg do i just want my full screen back lol micro stuttering is so annoying and hard to ignore forever
Green comes in and says "disable sli"
Really? That defeats the purpose of even coming to the tech support forums. I could just run Dx12 if I was going to disable SLI. I need a solution that allows me to use both cards while not having to deal with claymation graphics.
I want to give everyone a simple test to prove the resource hog windowed full screen is. Open task manager, tab to the graphs showing cpu, mem, gpu. These are running graphs over time. Observe your load, then launch wow, and be surprised how much resources are surprising.

MVPs in the tech forums are very helpful.
Oh, did you check and see if your monitor was turned on? That might cause issues if it isn't.

Windowed Fullscreen and Fullscreen are visually the same. They just behave differently. Think Fullscreen as putting all your eggs into one basket. Windowed Fullscreen is having some eggs in one basket and some eggs in another basket.

I know that, but i'm not in any windowed mode.
Windowed Fullscreen doesn't appear as regular Fullscreen to everyone. For others it looks completely different and the resolution is totally changed. If it looks the same for you then that's great. I'm happy you don't have to deal with the frustration we're having to deal with. But it is a problem that exists for many other people.
