Blizzard's giving me new motivation to farm gold purely to be a burden on their servers and not pay for it with each and every single time they attempt to carpet sweep this problem.
Hate to break it to you but they get paid more when you pay for subscription with Gold :)

I DONT LIKE CHANGE! thats how you all sound.
More like: WHY YOU NO SUPPORT WINDOWS XP?!?!?!?!?
do we know if this is a microsoft XNA issue or something along that line?

just asking as people have had problems with stardew valley recently, a popular 16-bit game.

Stardew Valley may look like a 16-bit game, but it most assuredly is not a 16-bit game. There haven't been any 16-bit games since the DOS days and Windows 98 SE DOS secondary support era.

As for the fullscreen issue, it appears the fat lady has just sung:

The changes to fullscreen were intended and at this juncture we have no intent to revert them.

Looks like the thread cap increase here was just proverbial lip service. So guess it's Game Over.

Begone, nobody wants you here and you're helping no one, not even yourself. Is this how you get your sick kicks? Off of other people's misfortunes? You genuinely need to get help.
I'd prefer to have fullscreen.

Well that's just super.

Been playing since beta, play most of Blizzard's other games. Have most of the store mounts and pets in WoW, bought a bunch of that crappy card game chasing loot cards and mostly have tabards to show for it, have paid for numerous race changes, faction swaps, and server transfers.. Bought plenty of cosmetics and boxes in HotS and Overwatch as I was having a good time with both. Not to mention all the Xpacs for WoW, D3, and SC2, but I guess it all comes to an end because performance and optimization has gone out the window due to whatever it is Blizzard is trying to prove here.

That's fine I guess. I won't forget the silence and lack of customer service with all this, neither will my wallet. It's to the point now that the trust I've had with Blizzard since Warcraft is broken and I guess I'm being forced to move on as an "acceptable loss".

Holy cats it's been a long !@# ride.

Peace.

"I DON'T UNDERSTAND TECHNOLOGY!"

That's how you sound.

How about this for an analogy. Someone comes along and breaks your foot. Now your can't walk like you could before. You move slower. Your... performance was decreased, as it were.

Now you're sitting at the doctor's office, and complaining about how much your foot hurts and you want them to fix it. And then a nurse comes out and screams at you "YOU JUST DON'T LIKE CHANGE!"

That's about what you're doing now.

I have to say that this is the end for me and WOW with this new windowed full screen bull!@#$.

I have 3 x AMD R9 290X MSI Lightning cards in Crossfire which can do 60 frames on high settings in 4k overclocked. There is no need for me to upgrade especially given the price I paid a few years ago. Now that Crossfire is useless in WOW, I don't get the FPS I need and want to use my 4k monitor for what it can do, not down scale the resolution to 1080p to get acceptable frames...

I just ended the subscription and will certainly come back if the above issue is fixed.

I agree with Deffias and hope everyone experiencing issues will post their disappointment.
It takes 26 hours to finish my subscription, in case the fullscreen mode does not return until finished, it can be considered a lesser player in WOW.

Ya not sure if I can handle looking at a game with decreased graphics knowing what it used to be and how great everything looked. I don’t think I’ll be renewing my sub and will have to call it. Thanks blizz

Do I seriously need to tell people what a joke is?

It really does a good job withering away your enthusiasm. Going from Legion having decent graphics and getting 80-100 FPS all the time to having to drop settings to make it playable isn't fun.

Poor user experience, and poor foresight in regards to their public perception.

Many, like myself, have invested money into hardware to attain the best in-game experience. Many are less fortunate, and do not have the hardware to reach a similar level of detail... but both parties are punished for the sake of 'compatibility'.

I'm not a developer, so I make no claims to no the specifics of the situation... but the many posts here have given me at least a slight indication that the removal of EFS was an act of laziness at best.

It may not make the game 'unplayable' for all... I've enjoyed the majority of my playtime today. However, the immensely enjoyable moments of immersion can be cut abruptly short by significant frame drops, and horrendous stuttering.
This whole fiasco is absolutely insane. I am at a loss for words at the silence from Blizz.

Anyway, I’m not giving up.

I'm forced out of Lordaeron, my church burned down, all of my things were stolen, and now I need to use a WindowBorder Mode in a pinky colorful glitter computer of a homossexual Silvermoon cyber-cafe. To make my situation less crappy, can you at least bring back the Windowed Full Scream Mode?

Legally blind player here - having a true full screen made it a ton easier to see everything. Now I have to take five to ten minutes to fiddle with it when things change and I'm having lag issues due to in game effects. Never had a problem with true full screen.
