Have you ever been exposed to the concept that computers are not uniform and that based on your setup results may vary? Or do you just think that because you arent having an issue that the issue cant exist?07/25/2018 12:32 PMPosted by Galadred07/25/2018 12:20 PMPosted by TresskaI am also sick of people painting this out to be something that only effects people with low end systems. I am running:
Liquid cooled i9-7900x overclocked to 5.1 ghz
32 gb of RAM
2 1080ti in SLI
1440 X 3440 utra wide G-Sync monitor
Game is installed on a NvME SSD
Even my performance has been severely impacted
I'm running a two and a half year old ASUS G752
Air cooled i7-6700HQ regularclocked to 2.6 GHz
12 bg of RAM
1 GTX 965m
Whatever the built in screen is
Game installed on a 7200 RPM HDD
My performance is better in windowed full screen with DX 12 after the patch than it was in full screen with DX 11 before the patch.
Your problem is either not your hardware or you're lying on the internet (I know, who would do such a thing?)
WoW is the ONLY game I am having performance issues in and ONLY since the update. I can play Ark Survival Evolved at 120 fps without any drops in massive tribe wars but wow struggles to stay above 60. There is something fundamentally wrong there.
Part of the issue is that blizzard broke G-sync and adaptive V-sync. Another issue is that their sloppy implementation of Dx12 has made it so SLI wont work which cuts out at least 40% of my performance. Now, I can run Dx11 and get SLI but because of how they gimped G and V-sync it looks choppy and unwatchable in spite of getting close to the framerates I am used to.
Fortunately I DO have all the extra power to cushion the loss in performance. I can just go Dx12 and while my performance is way down its still quite playable and looks nice. Others DONT have that luxury which is why I am so vocal on the forums. To some this change makes the game unplayable and I have empathy for them. This is why I also support the gnome/goblin threads who are complaining about their god awful new camera anchor point in spite of never having played either race,
For you it seems however that if it doesnt effect you, you just arent going to care. Why be part of a community if you are going to act like that? Seriously, why dont you go over to the tech support forums and post in the dozens upon dozens of threads trying to find solutions to a laundry list of problems that the problems don't exist because you are having no troubles.

A quick glance at his post history shows that he does indeed go to every fullscreen thread just to tell people that he has no issues and that they should get a better job to upgrade their computers.
07/25/2018 09:19 AMPosted by GaladredIf all you full screen whiners spent half as much time picking up some extra gig income as you did posting on the forums you'd be able to upgrade your systems instead of whining that your potato doesn't run WoW as well as it once did.
What a meme. What a player.

People like this guy "Oh i don't have issues with windowed mode"
Godd... please stop
If you don't, others do.. I'm currently playing with 1080ti and i7 7700k yet i'm having issues with Windowed fullscreen..
It's annoying, yes it's.. maybe for you it's not because you are not a high end PVP player or mythic raider? but for others losing -20 FPS and screen stutter is a huge deal.
And no before the patch i didn't have these issues with "Fullscreen" if you are going to say "Hey, upgrade.. hey update"
And other games like Overwatch i have more than 100 fps full time..

Sadly it looks like that topic on the EU forums was closed.. Was hoping we'd get some more information.

They don't like feedback threads in Tech Support, that's all.
That being said, they should have just moved it to General instead of closing it, but whatever.

I didn't buy it but then...
I found your post in tech support. You don't want to try any of the workarounds. You were so nice and cooperative that the MVP didn't even try to assist you further. Also, it sounds like some of the issues have to do with graphics card makers needing to update drivers, which will happen soon.
I read several other threads where low FPS issues were resolved successfully. If you don't want to try the suggestions and iterative troubleshooting processes posted many times already on tech support I don't know what to tell you.

The MVP did not give me a workaround. They said disable SLI which I pointed out is a pointless "fix" since all I would have to do is run the game in Dx12. The whole point of my post there was to get Dx11 working properly so I could use sli.07/25/2018 01:53 PMPosted by Galadred07/25/2018 01:00 PMPosted by Tresskawow struggles to stay above 6007/25/2018 01:00 PMPosted by Tresskachoppy and unwatchable

Cool! I would assume quite a few people have computers better than mine.07/25/2018 01:53 PMPosted by Tyrealle07/25/2018 01:28 PMPosted by TresskaWow, what a piece of work
My computer is better than yours!
Mind posting your specs so I can drool over them?

I can understand that. I just hope that little bit of progress (if you want to call it that) isn't lost now.
No, it is not. Under DirectX 12, Fullscreen (Windowed) and the Fullscreen you want are the same thing.07/25/2018 11:32 AMPosted by TresskaFullscreen is industry standard for a reason. Dx12 IS capable of fullscreen support if Blizz chose to write it themselves and there is zero reason to remove it from Dx11. An earlier build in the beta even had fullscreen but they removed it. This is armature and reeks of cutting corners
The problem is the game industry was lagging behind (GeForce 600 series were the first DX12 cards... we're now on the 1000 series plus the MXs) and we're starting to see full implementation now.
You'll just have to wait for nVIDIA and AMD to get off their butts and pump out game-ready drivers.

zZz this guy..
What is your problem man? do you think we are all 12 years old kids trolling on the internet over something that is effecting our performance?
Listen, before the patch.. when i was playing in fullscreen i didn't have any problems,
I'm using i7 7700k overcloaked and 1080Ti .. that rig is overkill for WoW.
It's this patch, it's the removal of fullscreen..

Tested both.
The performance overall went down... i used to get 80-90fps in 25Raids now 60-70..
I don't care if you are going to say "Oh 70 fps and you are complaining"
Yes i'm, because it's noticeable i felt the difference when i turn my screen while playing in combat.
Not to mention that some particle effects aren't fixed yet since 2016 in legion. go google neltharion's lair particle issues.
