My anti-virus software reported that Blizzard Battle.net software attempted to access my webcam.
Can someone explain why it would need to do this? Not too happy about that.
It’s either a false positive or something malicious running in your background.

Does your webcam have a mic? My guess is that it is trying to access that. Check to see what is in your settings.

I’m on a laptop so the webcam is integrated with the monitor. What would the battlenet app use the mic for?
The voice chat functionality that is built into it. Where you can create groups and chat with others, much like Discord.
