Battle for Najzatar is just so stupid now

It’s literally a form 60 party team, head to mezzamere, and dunk on any alliance zoning in and then win the event after 5mins. The guards dont do anything and I can just aoe them down https://i.imgur.com/zHQByhK.jpg

Like whatever this event this was originally planned to be about isn’t even it anymore.

There needs to be other sources of commendations, cause actual pvp doesnt reward you them either

And when i realise that after turning WM off, that exactly what horde have, but with WM on… no risk or barely when moving around on the ground. Being able to jump any rare that spawn, to complete kill quest without having to watch over your shoulder. And have the loot bonus from it.

I used to be flag all the time, but presently its just no possible at all in both new zone. And that is with my druid that can stealth. For class that cant that must be a freaking nightmare having to deal with all the trash mob and being jump from the sky all the time by group. Nope not fun.

( What UI are you using? quite neat)

I have quested with WM this entire expac and sure getting ganked by a roaming band of Zug zugs can be annoying, turning war mode off isn’t the solution. I can understand folks that main on stormrage and servers like it, as it was a normal server before the change so must of them are used to no Wpvp encounters( this not meant as an insult). Where as folks that were rppvp and pvp server are used to being ganked and having a roaming Zug zug pack mow you down from time to time. But let’s face it I for one would be taking naps at my keyboard without the excitement of the random pvp encounter. :cowboy_hat_face:

I totaly understand that and that why i used to be flag as well, come back to the game after a really long break (drop in after a few month after the release of TBC and came back during the Legion expansion)

But when it isnt about occasional ganking, but litteraly constant ganking. when you know that if you see one horde there at least 10 more 10 second away (which was the case for me when i came back to the game, but with way bigger zone so you could move around even without being stealthed or with toons that cant stealth and now with flying the ganking just increase by many fold.

It became no fun to be flag except probably for really hardcore PvPer and even then many of time got their fill and turned it off.

One thing that really irritates me is that on those occasions when I do get involved in a 1v1, it never stays a 1v1. More Horde always show up to help. It’s almost never the case that someone shows up to help me.

Thats also the problem with the kill one opposite faction requirement too, everyone is going to try to converge onto that single alliance in the open to make sure they get rewarded for the “battle”

If there are 10 horde on you why would the solo alliance passing by jump in to get ganked too?.. it’s not gonna help you

Then horde wonder why no alliance show up…

Sorry if you dont get your kill for the event… getting killed by a swarm of locust that want their easy reward. Getting killed dont give us anything either, with no hope of getting a single kill to have a reward.

At least with AOO we have to get multiple kill in an uphill battle to get a reward, in your case you just need one and its quite safe and risk free.

Not really if you are running in a 5 man group with a healer included

yeah… been there done that…

got jump by 3 horde group. got a few kills but still an uphill battle

Let’s face it, Battle for Najzatar is just a badly designed event as far as world PVP goes. It would probably make a great battleground, but having a world zone suddenly turn into a battleground doesn’t really work well.

Blizzard actually has a terrible track record on putting things in to encourage world PVP. Assaults are about the only one that has ever worked (and the Stranglethorn Vale zone design if you count that).

I’ve actually had some pretty fun world PvP between Mezzamere and Newhome a few times. It actually reminded me of the old SS/TM days. Ironically, that only happened with the Battle for Nazjatar was not in progress. :stuck_out_tongue:

It could work if it was balanced better for both factions, A 1 for 1 entry would work.

Even on realms that are massively overpopulated one way or the other it would work.

A warning comes on the battle will start in 3 minutes, you sign up and join a queue. 1 person from each faction enters at a time And if there is less than 20 on one faction the battle doesn’t happen.

During the battle the main bases are walled off so people can’t enter the battle or camp the base.

Added in flying in these new zones has only exacerbated the problem. Try getting a rare or chest drop on alliance now lmao.

Add in something to stop flying during the battle.

No one will participate then … not for these rewards atleast abd limiting flying after ppl have just started flying after 1 year will be a disastrous move wrt to the player base

I would just scrap the event and make it so you get coins for every player kill, and a bounty drops 10-20 coins. Being bounty flagged in Naz should disable your hearthstones, your teleports, your flight whistles, and make it so you can’t toggle off warmode or leave until another faction kills you.

Can make up for it by giving you extra rewards per player kill as a bounty target, like extra pearls/coins/honor

I agree: the PVP there can be pretty good when the event is not in progress. It’s just that the Battle for Nazjatar, which they put in to encourage PVP, actually discourages it and makes it less fun.

And then what? The people that queued are sharded separately from the people that didn’t?

That might be fine, but I don’t see how it differs from just making the event into a battleground and allowing people to queue whenever they want.

No. they are stuck in the main towns. Like how it was in Ashran

Because it still makes it an “event” by having it timed rather than your idea of making in Arathi basin 2.0
