You can day anything you want the fact that hunters rely on pet AI for a large part of their damage and a rotation that always changing along with having to time every auto shot so I don’t clip makes it harder than pretty much every class as far as relying on stuff.

To put it in perspective all of this week’s BT I used 4 tonks.
My pet was in danger of actually dying 4 times, I’m sure those 4 tonks equal out to be just as good as a 27% 4 minute melee haste buff for your whole group.

No, you are understanding incorrectly. The logs are going to be partitioned meaning there will be a phase 3 and a phase 3.5 section on warcraftlogs. The previous logs with chickens are not invalid. Any logs that use chickens on bosses or trash will be invalid going forward, but not the logs already created before this takes effect.

We have decided to partition with the coming reset (15th Feb) in each region. This allows us to implement a lot of changes without a large recrawl ruining historicals and parses. P3.5 will be the default view on the front page.
The following changes will be in effect in the new partition:
Gurtogg Bloodboils Fel Rage will be normalized
Reliquary of Souls intermission downtime will be removed
Gnomish Battle Chickens/Battle Squawks are BANNED COMPLETELY (including on trash)
Archimonde cheese is not allowed and will count as an invalid log
Adds (Doomguard/Infernal) on Anetheron and Azgalor are excluded from damage done unless they die
Shade of Akama will be removed from DPS All Stars for both partitions

Yes, the old logs are not being invalidated; I got that part wrong. However, the claim I was trying to refute was that squawks would have the untouchable best logs for the phase. If the phase is partitioned, then they literally can’t. Like only gets compared to like.

I personally couldn’t care less what WCL decides to do. I’d still use tonks if I needed to. God forbid I play my class optimally, manage my pet efficiently, dps like a maniac and have my log invalidated. However would I show my face at the pub again??
Do you guys even understand what you post? You can still use chickens. But you won’t. Even if it gives you a chance to do slightly better you won’t because you don’t care how you do, you care how you look. It says it all that the majority of parse weirdos will play worse just so they can look better. Why wouldn’t you and your guild just give WCL the french salute and use your chickens anyway?

Someone recently posted that WCL was a “tool” that could be used to see if you needed to work on refreshing your dots or some such. What kind of terrible player needs to look at WCL to know when to refresh their dots?? I’m serious. How is it possible that WoW players are so bad?
You can go ahead and continue to blather about how parse snubs like myself are “bad” and don’t really know how to use WCL. But the opposite is true. We know EXACTLY what WCL is used for. All you need to do is ask someone if they’re going to still use their chickens to see if they’re a terrible player or not.

Steam tonks are NOT an exploit and never have been. Blizzard coded them to behave like a PET, not a toy. They behave exactly the way they’re supposed to. Hunters have been using them since P1 and Blizzard hasn’t said a WORD about it. Neither did you, for that matter, until your lord and master, WCL, announced they would invalidate logs where chickens are used.
