Like… Never… or as others have said… go back to retail if you need the Barbershop

Why are you playing SoD then?

Tried it for a few days… not my cup of tea. Plus retail has went south so I’m not there either… so right now I’m in a holding pattern till Cataclysm is re-released. even while on retail I never used the barber shop… when you create a character, it’s like your born with your looks and that can’t be changed. unless you want blizzard to integrate a plastic surgeon into the game.

So you can’t grow a beard and shave in classic+ where you have warlock tanks and mage healers?

As the saying goes:

“There is cheese in this… i did not order it with cheese. I asked for ketchup.”

Hope you find your ketchup.

Barbershop is literally the least invasive part of wow originality. Open your mind a little, would you rather they put in a paid feature or give it to everyone for in game currency?

While there are definitely some posts on the forums that show some people expect SoD to cater towards Retail, I’d be curious where this expectation is coming from.

When asked,

“What is Season of Discovery?”

Nora Valletta, lead software engineer on WoW Classic says,

“Season of Discovery is a [sic] interesting new twist on WoW Classic that sort of revisits and recaptures the exploration aspect of World of Warcraft. And really encourages players to get in tune with Azeroth and really pay attention to their surroundings and pick up on things that might be different, things that might be new to them. And, experience that with other players.”

Josh says, “Yeah, to add to that too, Season of Discovery, due to the seasonal nature of it; it’s a really great opportunity for us to take kind of a lot of risks and wild chances on things, and so… Also, to kind of ask what if questions, like ‘What if you could heal as a mage?’ or ‘What if you could tank as a rogue or warlock?’ And these are all super interesting twists on the class fantasy that we sort of know and love about original World of Warcraft. And it gives you a new way to approach… a new lens through which to view the original Warcraft world.”

“How does a new player experience Season of Discovery? Is it different than WoW Classic?”

Josh:

"It’ll be much the same as original World of Warcraft, when you first create your character. You know, you’ll kind of load into the game world in say Northshire Abbey, if you’re a human. You’ll go kill wolves, kill a few kobolds. When you hit level 2, pretty much right away, you’re going to get your first quest to discover your first rune ability. And that’s the first taste of discovery in Season of Discovery.

So, you complete that quest, you get that ability, and these are usually really impactful rune abilities. But, after that, the game doesn’t really tell you what to do. It just kind of says, ‘Go find more.’

And that’s really what Season of Discovery’s all about; is going out and rediscovering the original World of Warcraft world."

You should go back to classic servers. Hate to break it to you but runes weren’t a thing in classic. Warlocks couldn’t tank. Rogues didn’t have envenom and mutilate.

The reason I play SoD is because the “gameplay” and “routine” of the classic era is far better than retail. I get to actually do semi-challenging and rewarding dungeons with loot in it that matters. Then step into a raid that has one difficulty and get BiS loot. Doing the same exact content as the top players. Not a single arena in PvP to be found, favoring world pvp and battlegrounds.

Barber shop, transmog, or whatever the hell else people ask for that has nothing to do with the actual gameplay and “daily routine” of SoD being changed are fine. Because the routine is the only thing that matters in this game. I don’t want to farm M+ and use a flying mount to get everywhere. Being able to change my hairstyle isn’t going to change the classic routine that people prefer that is no longer in retail.

The routine is the important part of classic. Superficial crap like graphics or cosmetics are meaningless. And totally optional. If you don’t want to use it then don’t.

We will allegedly get dual spec at some point, so they should add a barber shop as well. I would like to be able to change my hair for different RP events.

You should go back to retail. Hate to say it to you but the devs are still doing a classic mindset and no matter how much you beg for retail they arent changing it runes or new runes.

All of this.

They already hinted at a new rune for 2 handed shaman. They have changed how to get runes. They were the ones that suggested they may add dual spec. They are very open to change this season. You were wrong before you even tried to make that argument.

LMAO how is the barber shop “a classic mindset”?

There’s literally 0 reason to not have a barber shop. At the very least let us change hairstyles and piercings? I can understand maybe not wanting to do full on cosmetic surgery, or altering your character’s skin tone, but hair and piercings, theres no reason they should be locked in.

why didn’t you just like, choose the hair you wanted at character creation :expressionless: i honestly don’t get the urge to want to change your appearance like this.
